REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDING 30 APRIL 2021
The Trustees of Law For ALL UK Chapter Charity present their annual report and audited accounts for the year ended 30 April 2021 and confirm they comply with the requirements of the applicable laws.
OUR AIMS
The objects of our charity are the advancement of education in the law in Tunisia in particular by:
-
collecting, acquiring and distributing legal textbooks to law school libraries in Tunisia; and
-
the provision of classes, lectures, seminars and training courses for students, professionals and the general public in Tunisia
REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS
During this year, Law for All delivered more than 4000 legal casebooks and treatises to law school libraries in Gabès, Jendouba and Kairoua and thus benefitting more than 1500 students. We also organised workshops and seminars around the rule of law and the fight against corruptions with former Minister of Justice and Head Public Prosecutor, Mr Amor Mansour. We also planned to offer training to law school librarians to improve their research skills along organising two conferences; one on environmental law in Gabès and the other on the law of water in Jendouba. However all these projects brutally stopped when the Covid-19 pandemic started because of lockdowns and travel restrictions. As a result and at the request of our donators we decided twice to allocate resources to provide financial supports to low income families in Tunisia affected by the pandemic in April 2020. We directly helped more than 500 families in the Gabès, Sfax, and Nabeul regions and many more indirectly through our partnership with the Rotary Club of Sfax. This year our funding came from individuals members of the Tunisian diaspora living in Western Europe. In a context where we could not carry on our normal activities and at the request of our donators, rather than having money held in our bank account and in light of numerous examples of charities providing covid-relief packages in addition to their normal activities we decided to free up funds and allocate around half of our resources to provide Covid-relief support package especially in a time where it was impossible to carry on our charity’s purpose. We aim to resume our normal activities going forward.
More information on our various activities can be found on our website (lawforall.fr) or our Facebook page (@Law for All-Droit pour tous-القانون للجميع)
