Achievements and performance

Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 WORSHIP AND PRAYER: ALL ARE WELCOME
TO ATTEND OUR REGULAR SERVICES. AT
PRESENT THERE ARE 50 MEMBERS OF THE
CHURCH, AND WE HAVE 2-5 VISITORS EVERY
SUNDAY. EUCHARISTIC WORSHIP IS AT THE
CENTRE OF OUR CHURCH LIFE. MASS IS
CELEBRATED ON SUNDAY EVERY OTHER
WEEK.
THE
CHILDREN
AND
YOUNGER
MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH TAKE AN ACTIVE
PART IN KIDS MINISTRY AS SINGERS AND
READERS, PARTICIPATING AT GAMES AND
CRAFT ACTIVITIES. FOR A CHURCH, AND
FOR
LOCAL
FAMILIES
AND
THEIR
NEIGHBOURS,
OCCASIONS
SUCH
AS
WEDDINGS AND BAPTISMS ARE SIGNIFICANT
AT SEVERAL LEVELS, BOTH AS SPECIAL
EVENTS OF THE CHURCH AND ALSO AS
AFFIRMATIONS
OF
FAMILY
LIFE
AND
RELATIONSHIPS. A LOCAL COUPLE WERE
MARRIED IN CHURCH IN DEC 2020 AND WE
HAD A BAPTISM SERVICE IN APR 2020.
VARIOUS
CHURCH
ACTIVITIES
IN
2020
HELPED TO STRENGTHEN OUR LINKS WITH
CHURCHES
AND
ORGANISATIONS
ELSEWHERE. WE WERE INVITED TO A
CONFERENCE IN ARAD, ROMANIA AND OUR
LEADERS HAD A CONSTRUCTIVE TIME
AWAY.
PASTORAL CARE: IN 2020 THE PASTOR AND
THE ELDER TOOK HOME COMMUNION TO 1
HOUSEBOUND FAMILY. A CHURCH MEMBER
WHO WAS IN HOSPITAL WAS ALSO VISITED,
AND RECEIVED HOLY COMMUNION. THERE
IS AN INFORMAL NETWORK OF PEOPLE WHO
VISIT THOSE WHO CAN NO LONGER COME
TO CHURCH, DELIVERING COPIES OF THE
MAGAZINE AND GENERALLY “KEEPING AN
EYE”, SO THAT THEY REMAIN IN TOUCH WITH
CHURCH LIFE. AS CHRISTIANS WE BELIEVE
THAT PEOPLE'S SPIRITUAL NEEDS CANNOT
BE ADDRESSED WITHOUT CONSIDERING
THEIR PHYSICAL NEEDS. THE CHURCH
BOUGHT FOOD PARCELS AND DISTRIBUTED
THEM TO PEOPLE IN NEED AND FAMILIES
WHO LOST THEIR JOBS DUE TO COVID19.
ECUMENICAL
RELATIONSHIPS:
IT
IS
IMPORTANT TO US TO EMPHASISE AND
DEVELOP
OUR
LINKS
WITH
FELLOW-
CHRISTIANS OF OTHER DENOMINATIONS AS
WE SEEK TO MAKE KNOWN THE LOVE OF
CHRIST. WE ORGANISED A FEW MEETINGS
BETWEEN THE LEADERS OF OUR CHURCH

AND THE LEADERS OF THE BAPTIST CHURCH IN YEOVIL, SO WE CAN SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER. VOLUNTEERS: WE ARE MOST GRATEFUL TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS WHOSE HARD WORK MAKES VERTICAL CHURCH YEOVIL A LIVELY, WELCOMING AND OUTGOING COMMUNITY.

Vertical Church Yeovil Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees For the Year Period 31 December 2021

Independent examiners report to the Trustees of Vertical Church Yeovil

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts for Vertical Church Yeovil (“the charity”) for the period ended 31 December 2021.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the 2011 Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act; or 2. the accounts do not comply with these records

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
