**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

Viva Gymnastic Club continued the delivery of gymnastics to the local community. Income started to build again as classes were no longer restricted due to Covid. The Club began to build their coaching base by upskilling young trainee coaches and members of staff.

Two major contributors to the funds of the Club were Portsmouth City Council and Marks & Spencer who both donated £1,000.

## **Section E                    Financial review**

The charity’s principal sources of funds are members’ fees, including individual gymnast bookings, charity group booking and school group bookings, and additional fundraising undertaken by the club, such as grant applications for projects, general fundraising events, competitions, occasional sale of ‘tuck shop’ items and sales of club kit. During this year we received £1,000 donations from both Portsmouth City Council and Marks &Spencer.

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant about:

- the charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising);

## **Section F Other optional information**

On preparing the Receipts and Payments Account and comparing it to the figures for the previous year it was found that two expenditure figures had been incorrectly categorised.

A comparison highlighted that, for 2021-22, Contract Services should have been £34,290 instead of £3,143 declared and Wages/Salaries/NI/Pensions should have been £31,624 instead of £62,771 declared. The total figure for these two items of expenditure was correct – only the categorisation was not correct. This has been highlighted with the Charities Commission who have confirmed that no rectification is necessary to the Account and Reports declared for 2021-22.

Both Contract and Payroll figures are higher than previously due to opening a second gymnastics site with additional staff (both contract and salaried) being taken on and trained.

## **Section G                    Declaration**

**The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees’ report above.**
