This has been a disappointing year for the Charity and my report will be brief.
Despite efforts to obtain another potential site for a skatepark we have made no progress in the year.
The lack of support for the site we were offered in 2022 and promoted in 2023 has been a major setback and seems to have undermined efforts to generate enthusiasm and fundraising.
There have been no fundraising activities and the annual Benni’s Chill event was not progressed. Our finances are unchanged.
During the year we were asked to relocate the half pipe we currently have in store and we are grateful that one of our supporters is now storing this for us.
Our local Council has acknowledged lack of facilities in the village for recreation for young people and has a skatepark/wheeled sports facility in its potential investment strategy for the community. The council recently canvassed the village about the type of recreation facilities it wants and we have advised that the Charity would commit its funds to a project that delivered a skatepark for the community. This is
currently our only live prospect. I believe we should continue to search for a potential site as this a prerequisite for creditability when seeking support. I hope that fundraising will re-establish in 2026 and will contribute to our mission.
I wish to record my thanks to Trustees and other supporters for their work and support in our efforts to progress this project. My hope is that we may yet find a way forward.
