## 1. Overview of the Year to 31[st] March 2026
In the 12 months to 31[st] March 2026, WLBC has become financially stronger and costs continue to be well controlled.
Income is down this year, but there were a number of exceptional items in the previous year. See below.
## 2. Financial Report
Please refer to **Section 5. Financial Accounts** – _**Lines**_
As I said, WLBC was in a good financial position at 31st March 2026.
- A cash position with funds of £ 19,420 (2025: £ 16,367). – _**Line 20, 21, 22**_
- £ 80 (2025: £ 375) of the cash balance is ring-fenced grant monies. This money has been granted for specific purposes and is gradually being allocated, where appropriate, towards relevant expenditure. The purpose is:
- £ 80 for Equipment
- We have liabilities, by way of a loan, of £2,000 (2025: £ 4,000) – _**Line 23**_
## _1. Income_
## **Direct Donations** – _**Line 1**_
These are from individuals and organisations that have continued to be generous at £ 4,253 (2025 £ 8,040). Notable donations:

Last year we received £1,000 from Moncrieff Trust; £1,000 sponsorship from James Usher and Aviva; £850 from the Lowestoft South Rotary Club.
## **Grants** – _**Line 2**_
No Grants were received in the year (2025: nil).
## **Donations for rides** – _**Line 3**_
People and organisations donated £ 2,590 (2025: £ 4,637).
We undertook 123 rides in the year (2025: 100).
In the previous financial year Clover Court Care home closed (June 2024), and an advance payment was received of £ 1,957.
There are approximately 6 days of rides left to be undertaken (2025: 8 days).
**HMRC Gift Aid** – _**Line 4**_ (since y/e 2024)
Gift Aid receipts were £ 857 (2025: £ 1,407). This is a useful income category.
## **Events Income** – _**Line 5**_
No fundraising events were scheduled in the financial year (2025: nil)

## **Other Income** – _**Line 6**_
This totalled £ 424 (2025: £ 387) and includes Bank interest received of £ 244 (2025: £ 217); Membership Fees and other minor donations made up the rest.
## **Total Income** – _**Line 7**_
The overall picture for income was £ 8,123 (2025: £ 15,671).
## _2. Expenditure_
**Motor Vehicle Costs** – _**Line 8**_ were £ 1,331 (2025: £ 1,559) These are costs of running the trike, such as fuel, repairs, road tax and insurances. Repairs were lower in the current year at £66 (2025: £ 229)
As already mentioned, we undertook 123 rides compared to 100 in 2025.
Regarding motor insurance, we were again fortunate with the deal done with BikeSure, which was cheaper this year.
The sponsorship arrangement meant BikeSure bore the whole cost of £714 (2025: £ 864).
**Equipment Costs** – _**Line 9**_ were £ 68 (2025: £ 1,188)
An HP Inkjet printer was bought as a replacement printer.
**Training Costs** – _**Line 10**_ were £ 268 (2025: £ 158) Training expenses relate to a First Aid training day for members. Ringfenced funds were released for this course.
**General Insurances** – _**Line 11**_ were £690 (2025: £ 690) Happily, no increase!
**Administration Costs (inc Marketing)** – _**Line 12**_ were £ 678 (2025: £ 1,064) Marketing Costs £ 54 (2025: £ 73) IT Costs £ 453 (2025: £ 547) - releasing ringfenced funds Telephone £ 35 (2025: £ 38) DBS Checks £ nil (2025: £ 92) - releasing ringfenced funds Stationery & Cleaning £ 30 (2025: £ 35) Meeting Costs £ 106 (2025: £ 279) - food for catering for group meetings
**Accountancy Costs** – _**Line 13**_ were £ nil (2025: £ nil) Since registration for Gift Aid, WLBC are now obliged to submit a Corporation Tax return. This is done at cost by Edward Back & Co, Accountants, who make the electronic submission for us. This has previously been £155 and is likely to be payable in the coming year.
**Bank Charges** – _**Line 14**_ were £ 35 (2025: £ 70 HSBC charged a monthly fee which ceased in August 2025. Handling charges for cheques, cash and fees for PayPal, etc. continue to apply.

## _3. Surplus / (Deficit)_ – _**Line 15**_
The net result of or activities, taking into consideration all income and expenditure, we ended the year with a Surplus to reserves of £ 5,052 (2025: £ 10,943).
The Net Closing Surplus ( _**Line 18**_ ) is £ 17,420 (2025: £ 12,367) carried forward.
## 4. _Cash -_ _**Lines 20, 21, 22**_
The bank accounts add up to £ 19,420 (2025: £ 16,367)
## _5. Loans -_ _**Lines 23**_
There is one loan in place (2025: 2). The loan of £2,000 (2025: £4,000) is with Keith Lightfoot. The Principal is £8,000, £6,000 repaid. £2,000 remaining. Final repayment of £2,000 in December 2026.
Total - Principal £9,500, £ 7,500 repaid. £ 2,000 remaining,
Cash & Loans together equate to the Reserves carried forward ( _**Line 24**_ ) £ 19,420 - £ 2,000 = **£17,420** (2025: £ 12,367)
## 3. Summary & Outlook
WLBC was in a good financial position on 31[st] March 2026.
- We had a strong cash position with funds of £ 19,420 (2025: £ 16,367).
- Loans are in place for £ 2,000 (2025: £4,000).
- £ 80 of the cash balance was ring-fenced (2025: £ 375).
We have continued to generate funds towards the replacement of our current trike. All of this moves the WLBC forward to provide more rides for sick and disabled clients. This is why we do what we do.
