Principal activities
The charity's principal activity during the period was that of providing hard-to-reach communities with advice, information resources, guidance & practical support to improve their health, knowledge

Statement of trustees' responsibilities in relation to the financial statements
The Trustees are responsible for maintaining adequate accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and which are sufficient to show and explain the charity's transactions and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with regulations made under the Charities Act.
The Trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
This report was approved by the board of trustees on 7 April 2022 and signed on its behalf.

Accountants' report to the trustees of Enfield Alevi Cultural Centre
You consider that the charity is exempt from an audit for the period ended 31 March 2021. You have acknowledged, on the balance sheet, your responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts. These responsibilities include preparing accounts that give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company at the end of the financial period and of its profit or loss for the financial period.
In accordance with your instructions, we have prepared the accounts which comprise the Statement of Financial Activities, the Balance Sheet and the related notes from the accounting records of the company and on the basis of information and explanations you have given to us.
We have not carried out an audit or any other review, and consequently we do not express any opinion on these accounts.

1 Accounting policies
Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2016) - (Charities SORP (FRS102)) and the Companies Act 2006.The accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to charity commission.
Fund Accounting
Unrestricted Funds are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity.
Designated funds are unrestricted funds earmarked by the Trustees for particular purposes. Restricted funds are subject to restrictions on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the terms of an appeal.
Income
Income is measured at the fair value of consideration received from donation, members contrubution and rent. All donations and income are considered unrestricted unless specifically stated by the donor. Unrestricted funds comprise the accumulated surplus or deficit on the statement of financial activities which are available for use at the discretion of the trustees of Enfield Alevi Cultural Centre in furtherance of the objectives of the charities.
Expenses
Expenditure is recognised on an accruals basis. Expenditure includes any VAT which cannot be fully recovered, and is reported as part of the expenditure to which it relates.
Expenditure on charitable activities comprise the costs incurred by the Charity in the delivery of its activities and services in the furtherance of its objects, including the making of grants and governance costs.
All grant expenditure is accounted for on an actual paid basis plus an accrual for grants that have been approved by the trustees at the end of the year but not yet paid. Other expenditure are support costs not allocated to a particular activity.
Taxation
The charity is exempt from tax on its charitable activities.
