9 january 2020 and registered with the £harity commission on 9 January 2020.
If the CIO is wound up, each mernber of the CIO is liable to contribute to the 355ets of the CIO such amount Ibiit
not more than £1) as may be required for payment of the debts Bnd Ilabilities of the CIO contracted before that
person ceases to be a member, for payment of the costs. charges and expenses of winding up. and for adjustmeiit
of the ri8hts of the contributlll8 members amon8 themselves.
There must be a minimvm of three and a maxlmum of twelve charity trustees.
Apart from the first rhaflty tru5tee5, Every appointed trust¢6 must be appointed for a term of three years by
resolution passed at a propeTly conver%ed meetin8 of the charity trustees. In selecting individua15 for appoinlmeiit
as appointed charitytrustees, the charity trustees must have ward to the skllls, knowledge and experient* nopded
for the effective administration of the CIO.

mathematics ISTEMI education.

Powers
The CIO ha5 power to do anythlng which is calculated to further Its Object5 or Is conduclve or incldental to doing
$0, to raise funds and to invite and Yecelve contributions. The CIO must Comply as appropriate with sections 124
nd 125 of the Charities Act 2011.
Applicaiion of income and property - The Income and property of the CIO must be applied solely towards the
promotion ol the Objectives.
Actiyitles.
We have now established governance, due dillgence and operational processe5 for Enanagement and distribution
of 8Tants. Post covld actlvlties have been slower than anticipated in fund raising. however we are now seelnB
511PPOrt on a matched funding basis with time and iesource5 from Industry.
Public benefit
In preparing these account5 the trustees have had rega¥d to the guidance issued by ihe charity commission on
public benefit.
Achievements and Performance
Over the past year, we have had the privilege of supporting over 5,000 students across the North East
through a diverse range of initiatives, partnershlps. and events designed to insplre the next generation
of innovators.
l. Fulure Maker Programme
Reach= Delivered interactive STEM days to 1.300 primary students from 38 regional
schools.
o Partnershlps.. Hosted events in collaboration with Institution5 such as Hartlepool College,
Newcastle, Northumbria, and Sunderland Universities. with more planned.
Purp05e.' These event5 spark £urio51tyi foster innovation, and build confidence in thlldren
from diverse backgrounds.
2. Supporting Schools and Students
Partnered with Spark Tee5 Valley to fund STEM resources for 10 additiona1 primary
schools, benefiting 3,000 students.
Supporterl Tanfield School's participation in the VEX Vlrtual Robot Code fin31s in Dallas,
Texas, Showcasing local talent on an international stage.
3. Ongolng Collaboratlons
Continued partnership with UTC South Durham. supporting transport costs, Future Maker
events, and initiatlves like thelr Amateur Radio programme, which equips students with
fundamental communication technoloEy skills.
4. New Initiative5
Launched a partnership with RTC North'5 STEM HUB to pilot a sfEM Pupll Passport
Programme for primary and secondary students. set to launch in November.
5. Advocacy for Dedicated STEM Schools
Championed the creation of more dedicated STEM schools across the North East and
urged industry partners to lend their voice5 of support through formal endorsements.
This year, we launched the Future Shaper5 Membership Programme, enabling companies to align their
Corporate Social Responsibility goals with our mission.

The North East STEM Foundation is committed to continuing our mission of empowering young people.
With plans to expand our Future Maker programme. deepen partnerships, and pilot new initiatives, we
remain steadfast in our vislon of a region where every child can access opportunities in STEM.
Financial Review
In the C￿rreTrt period the charity raised £119.882 from returns on the fvndraising dinner. corporate and personal
donations. £25,914 was spent on consultancy and operatlonèl cost5 for the daily running of the Charity. £20.440
was awarded to quallfyln8 beneficiailes for support. Year-end resesves werp £104,036.
Our aim 15 to cover all operation costs three rnonth5 ahead. Flnancial 5UPPOrt to piojects will only be ctsmmltled
when the Charlty has sufficlent cash ￿ServeS to support its ongolng costs and the cost of the prolerts.
Going concern
In the tWStees' opinion there are no uncertaintie5 relating to going concern.
