## **Trustees’ Annual Report and Financial Summary**

## **Assistance Dog Council (ADC) For the Year Ended 31 March 2022**

## **Introduction**

The trustees of the Assistance Dog Council (ADC) are pleased to present their annual report for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2022. The report reflects the charity’s ongoing commitment to bringing equality to all assistance dog users throughout the UK.

## **Objectives and Activities**

ADC’s objectives during the year focused on:

1. Providing advice, support, and education to assistance dog handlers.

2. Acting as a mediator in disputes between service providers and handlers.

3. Promoting animal welfare through education and guidance.

4. Supporting handlers in training their assistance dogs.

## **Achievements and Performance**

During the year, ADC achieved the following:

   1. Assisted with 20 disputes, resolving 85% successfully.

   2. Verified 120 new handlers’ compliance with the Equality Act 2010

3. Assisted with 10 businesses in relation to their policies towards Assistance Dogs

## **Financial Review**

ADC’s financial position summarised below:

**Category Amount (£) Total Receipts** 1,242 **Total Payments** 2,084 **Net Movement** (842) **Opening Balance** 200 **Closing Balance** (642)

The year ended with an additional £842 due to increased donations and outreach. This lead to the ADC increasing its non-voting member numbers, which in turn resulted in the ADC being able to help more vulnerable people with Assistance Dogs.

**Challenges**

The challenge Covid-19 has caused during this fiscal year is astronomical. It meant that the ADC was unable to use physical fundraising techniques and had to resort to online fundraising only.

## **Plans for the Future**

ADC is committed to the following initiatives in the upcoming year:

1. Expanding its outreach program to educate more service providers.

2. Launching a mentorship scheme for new assistance dog handlers.

3. Developing a mobile app for on-demand resources and support.

4. Increasing collaborations with disability and animal welfare organisations.

## **Acknowledgements**

The trustees extend their heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers, donors, and partners who made this year’s achievements possible. Their unwavering support is integral to ADC’s mission.

## **Signed on behalf of the trustees,**
