Achievements and Performance
| SORP reference | ||
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | The Pandemic, declared early in 2020 and the lockdowns which followed, led to a huge increase in the numbers of people using the Scrubs. The Friends have worked tirelessly to ensure that the users are aware of the environmental importance of the Scrubs through engaging with the users directly, promoting the values through various communication channels including its website, emails, etc., through active engagement with the WSCT, and the local authority, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and the Parks and Met Police (particularly when there has been a risk of unauthorised large scale gatherings of the Scrubs). These actions have promoted a sense of safety and security for users, and have discouraged the public from damaging the Scrubs. With HS2 recently beginning relocation of a sewer on the Scrubs, the Friends were instrumental in achieving an alternative access for HS2 to the Scrubs to ameliorate the damage and a group of volunteers worked with LBHF in carrying out protective works to preserve the wildlife habitat. |
