Al-Hikmah Harrow runs a volunteer led educational service on Saturdays between 10am and 1:30pm where children aged 5- 17 are taught: 1. How to read the Quran with encouragement towards being confident, independent readers 2. Surah memorisation for use in daily prayers and for bringing closer their bond with the Quran 3. Islamic studies to empower students to have a good understanding and knowledge of Islam that will assist them throughout life and begin a journey of life-long study for the betterment of themselves and their local community |

Para 1.20 | Al-Hikmah Harrow has educated in excess of 90 children during this period to increase their understanding of Islam and advance the faith. These children have been taught according to the teachings of Islam in the Sunni tradition and in line with the Quran and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) including but not limited to: • How to read the Quran Independent learning to understand its message and not rely on third party sources that could deviate the message • To be a good example of a Muslim and honour, respect and contribute |
positively to the local and wider community of all faiths • To be an ambassador for good through daily reflection, selfimprovement and increasing understanding among others
Despite challenges post-Covid, the school re-opened face to face classes and has continued to provide a good service to the community, taking on more children and helping them learn more about Islam. The new students and donations have helped us meet the increased premises hire costs for now.
