## **The German Christian Association (London) Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Registered Charity No.1187036)** 

The German Christian Association (London) Charitable Incorporated Organisation (the Charity) was registered with the Charity Commission on the 18[th of] December 2019 with the Charity Number 1187036. 

The Charity is dependent on its associated charity, the German YMCA in London (Charity Number 256113), being able to implement its restructuring plans, as these would provide the Charity with the means to fulfil the roles foreseen for it in its foundation. 

As reported last year, the German YMCA cleared the way for its long-planned corporate reconstruction when it finally succeeded in late 2023 in buying out its pension liabilities. 

In the meantime, the German YMCA has agreed on a simplified plan to achieve its objective of incorporating the unincorporated Association, which requires the updating and adoption of revised Articles of Association and agreeing the whole process with the Charity Commission. When this has been completed it is the intention, with the assent of the Charity Commission, to transfer the entire assets and liabilities of the German YMCA into this charity and for it to become the German Young Men’s Christian Association (London) Charitable Incorporated Association. The former Association would then be dissolved. 

The Charity’s Trustees welcome these developments but continue to await the outcome of the process, which, while simple in concept is administratively complex, and which will lead to our dormant charity finally becoming operative.  There have therefore been no formal meetings of the Trustees in 2024, although the Trustees have been kept informed of progress.
