The German Christian Association (London) Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Registered Charity No.1187036)
The German Christian Association (London) Charitable Incorporated Organisation (the Charity) was registered with the Charity Commission on the 18[th of] December 2019 with the Charity Number 1187036.
The Charity is dependent on its associated charity, the German YMCA in London (Charity Number 256113), being able to implement its restructuring plans, which would provide the financial resources for the Charity to fulfil the roles foreseen for it in its foundation.
In the final quarter of 2023, the German YMCA was successful in buying out the pension liabilities which had been the stumbling block in implementing its planned corporate restructuring. In the light of this the GYMCA has now decided to simplify its plans for incorporation by seeking agreement from the Charity Commission to transfer its entire assets and liabilities into this charity, which would be renamed the German Young Men’s Christian Association (London) Charitable Incorporated Organisation. The two charities both have identical objects.
The Charity’s Trustees therefore await the outcome of these negotiations, which it is hoped will lead to our dormant charity being able before too long to fulfil its intended purpose, albeit in a slightly different manner to that originally envisaged.
In the circumstances there have been no formal meetings of the Trustees in 2023, although the Trustees continue to monitor developments carefully.
