Trustee’s Annual Report

Cylch Meithrin Dinbych Uchaf is an association situated at Canolfan Seion Community centre, Denbigh.

It provides educational experiences for children from the age of 2 years who live in the flying Start area of Denbigh. Cylch Dinbych Uchaf is registered as part of Mudiad Meithrin a welsh organisation, they employ local development officers who offer guidance and advice to staff. Due to Co vid guidelines contact is now done over the phone or through zoom.

The Cylch committee consists of an elected chair, Secretary and Treasurer as officers. Cylch Dinbych uchaf has a nominated Registered person, this individual has legal responsibility of ensuring that the Cylch meithrin complies with the requirements of CIW. The leader of the cylch is appointed as responsible individual who is responsible for the day to day running of the Cylch Meithrin.

Finances

The principal source of income is pupil fees, in addition income is collected through Grants, Fundraising and Donations.

All income is used to provide the best education possible for the pupils attending our Cylch meithrin. The majority of the income received is spent on staff wages, other expenditure includes classroom resources and improvements.

Aims

Our aim is the happiness and safety of each child, our homely and happy environment offers the best possible care and the chance for each child to learn and develop to its full potential. Children over the age of 2 are introduced to activities which promote the Flying Start scheme and the age 3-7’s Foundation phase (the national early years curriculum) in order to ensure the best possible start to their education.

Following these areas of learning helps in the transition of pupils from the Pre school setting to a School setting.

Extra activities

This year due to Co vid restrictions and guidelines we have been unable to participate in any day trips, visits, walks etc.

We have had new furniture in the play room, and new resources in our outdoor area.

Participated in children in need day by having a pyjama day.

Christmas jumper day

Rememberance Sunday wreath was made by the children as a creative activity.
