Report of the Trustees
For the year ended 31[st] December 2024
The Trustees present their annual report together with the Financial Statements of the charity for the year ended 31[st] December 2024.
The Reference and Administrative Details above form part of this report. The Financial Statements comply with current statutory requirements, the Constitution and the Statement of Recommended Practice Accounting and Report by Charities (effective from January 2019).
Objectives and Activities
The objective of the charity is to advance the education of children aged 3-12 in Llyswen and its surrounding areas and to provide the necessary facilities for their daily care, recreation and education during out of school hours and school holidays by providing a nursery and after school club for the public benefit.
To achieve this objective the charity undertakes the following activities:
Provision of wrap-around / holiday childcare for pre-school and primary school children aged 3-12.
The trustees have made decisions regarding these activities with regard to our charitable purpose and the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.

Achievements and Performance
Many thanks to the staff and committee for their hard work and continued dedication and commitment to the club during 2024.
Numbers continued to be higher in after school club from January to May 2024 with an average of 75 sessions per week. Numbers decreased in June and July to 67 sessions per week due to additional after school activities run by school and other organisations. The end of the year was slower for after-school club with an average of 63 sessions per week.
Holiday club was busiest during the summer holidays with up to 30 children and an average of 20 children per day. Holiday club was quietest at Easter with an average of 14 children per day. February, May and October half-terms had an average of 16 children per day.
Two new staff were recruited in 2024 working in after-school and holiday club, however staffing remains a challenge. The aim is to do further recruitment in 2025 for both club and holiday club.
Trustees and staff worked hard to arrange several fundraising events in 2024. This included bingo, face painting at the summer bash, a quiz and a movie night raising a total of £1,294. Many thanks to the staff for their support. All these events proved very popular, and the charity plans to repeat most of these events in 2025, as well as investigating other options for fundraising.

Financial Review
provision of childcare services. Total income for 2024 was £49,841 of which after-school club fees were £19,049 and holiday club fees were £30,638. Fees were reviewed in March and increased from 1[st] April due to increases in the National Minimum Wage.
The charity made regular loan repayments to Development Bank Wales throughout 2024. As holiday club was very busy over the summer, it was possible to repay an additional £3,000 in December which has reduced the remaining term to under 3 years.
Efforts continued in 2024 to recover outstanding fees and reduce nonpayment of invoices by sending regular reminders. Outstanding fees at the end of 2024 were £6,063, which was £1,682 lower than the previous year, however most of this reduction was due to writing off £1,410 of debt from the Nursery that could not be recovered.
The charity ran several fundraisers and raised a total of £1,294. These funds were spent on Animal Encounter and yoga sessions for the holiday club, refurbishing the tricycles, purchasing new toys and purchasing new uniforms for staff.
The charity received a £1,000 Activity for All grant from Tesco during the summer holidays. This money was spent on purchasing new sports equipment and a Sport Powys session. This equipment will continue to be used to encourage the children to keep fit.
From April 2024 wages were taken in-house and have been done using Sage Payroll to reduce costs. The pension scheme continues with NEST. hoped that the finances will continue to improve in 2025.

Llyswen Cheeky Monkeys Nursery and Afterschool Club Year Ending 31" December 2024 Structure, Governance and Management The charity was governed as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in accordance with its constitution. Membership of the CIO is open to anyone who is interested in furthering its purposes, and who, by applying for membership, has indicated his, her or its agreement to become a member and acceptance of the duty of members to exercise his or her powers as a member of the CIO in the way he or she decides in good faith would be most likely to further the purposes of the CIO. Trustees are elected at the annual general meeting or may be appointed at any time either to replace a trustee who has retired or as an additional trustee. When an existing trustee ceases to hold office, a new member will be elected to the office by a majority vote either at the annual general meeting or a general meeting if the resignation/removal occurs part way through the year. I report to the Trustees on my examination of the accounts of Llyswen Cheeky Monkeys Nursery and Afterschool Club (the Charity) for the year ended 31[st] December 2024, which are set out on pages 11 to 12.
Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
As the Trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of
carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
