The club is open to all members of the community and seeks to encourage new memberships.

Affiliates and Community Support

The two club affiliates include Adur Sailing Club, an RYA Training Centre, and the 35th Lancing Sea Scouts, which the club supports by offering reduced rent to both affiliates. In doing so, we enable better use of club facilities, generate incremental income, support the provision of a range of healthy, community-based activities, and it also enables us to have regard for our public benefit requirement.

Sailing Programme and Activities

The club has been active throughout the year with its sailing programme combining club racing, open events, training activities, and other events.

The club arranges regular organised racing on a Sunday and Wednesda evening together with open events - weather permitting. We seek to Y promote club racing on a Wednesday or Sunday to the Adur Sailing Club (ASC) and 35th Lancing Sea Scouts (SSC) youth.

The 2025 racing season kicked off with the Spring series on Sunday, March 23, featuring the usual club series, Battle of the Beaches, and other events. The Spring Morning Series introduced the new eTally system for signing on and off which improves safety and enables easier operations.

Improver Sessions and Member Development

The Improver Saturday sessions in 2025 attracted circa 42 participants in addition to the team of committed club volunteers running these sessions. Improver sessions attract new members, prospective members, and youth and adult improvers who seek to enjoy the protection of the harbour at high tide in the training pool area. This group is actively managed by a key, experienced member of the club who has ambitions to develop the programme, including running some sessions outside the harbour when conditions permit, and sufficient safety cover is available. We are supporting this initiative where possible to attract new members and develop existing members' skills in sailing and racing. formalising the offer to members who may receive up to £50 contribution In addition, we are seeking to develop the skills of members by towards first aid, safety boat or VHF licence, or other training. Open Events/ National Championships

The club organised a number of major open events for the sailing community in the year. This included the joint Wayfarer (17 entries) and Contender (28 entries) National Championships in September 2025. Over 3 days, race organisers successfully executed eight races utilising a triangle-sausage course in shifting south-westerly winds that built to 20 knots. This created challenging, wind-against-tide conditions for participants. This benefited those that were proficient in wave navigation and high-load spinnaker handling. The extreme environment presented a definitive test for both the multi-crew Wayfarer and the high performance single-handed Contender. It resulted in championships so competitive that several positions, including the overall Wayfarer title, were determined on countback.

The event's success was bolstered by industry sponsorship, top-tier race management, and the club's exceptional social program and volunteer support, solidifying Shoreham's reputation as a premier and demanding venue for national fleet racing. The club receives strong interest from numerous class fleets seeking to hold their national events at the club.

Erosion at Soldiers Point

The club is actively documenting the dramatic erosion at Soldiers Point since the partial completion of revetment works undertaken by the Environment Agency during 2025. The club is pro-actively liaising with stakeholders to resolve the ongoing issue which has not been solved by these works. The legal process (funded by the EA) to document the new boundary and land gifted by Shoreham Port to the club will follow this.

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act"). pect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out I report in res under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
