Entering through study conference& emerging and curr¢nt leader5 gain a lifelong network for continued learning and
mutual supporu of benefit to society and the Commonwealth as they ris¢ to POSitions of responsibility and influence
within all walks of life.

The main activities of the CIO in 2024 were events for potential supporters and planning for a Commonwealth Study
Conference in 2026. Two events were held in the presence of our PresidenL HRH The Princess Royal, to engage and
update potential supporters. Plans for a 2026 Commonwealth Study Conference were developed with the
establishment of a Conference Advisory Conunittee chair￿1 by an alumnus. Trustees mei once oDlin¢ and once in
hybrid foThnaL a mixture of in person and Onlille.

The reserves and invesknent policy will be b&s¢d on the f￿ancial demands mad¢ upon the CIO at regular intervals,
over conference cycles.
The CoDstitstion allows investsnent in the same manner and subject to the same conditigns as the Tnthes of a trust
ar¢ r¢nnitt¢d to do by the Thjstee A¢t 2000.
Ruults
The CIO'S income is ¢OmFrfysed of donations and will be supplcmented in future by income from investsnents.
In 2024. the main expenditure of the CIO consisted of the costs of the deYel¢)pment and meetings of the CIO 2nd its
plans. including paymeni for 2023 activities billed in 2024.
Plans for Future Activities
Th¢ Trustees are supporting th¢ development and fimding of a new Commonwealth s￿dY Conference in 2026, with
delivery JD partnership with other organisations.

Under th¢ Constitution of th¢ CIO and Glwity law. th¢ Trust¢e5 are respoJ]5ible for preparing th¢ Trustr¢s' R￿Ort and th¢
financial statements in a¢¢ordance with applicable law and regulation5.
Charity law trquires the Trnstees to prepare financial statements for each fmancial year.
The financial statements are required by law to give a trne and fair view of the stste of affatrs of the CIO at the end of the
year and of its in¢oming resources and applic*ion of resources for the year then ended.
In preparing these financial statements, generally accepted accounting practice entails that the Tn￿teCs.'

prepared by them under the Charities Act 2011, those ststements of accounts comply with the requtrements of regulations
under that provision. They have general responsibility for taking such steps as are reasonably open ￿ them to safeguard
the ￿ets of the CIO and to prevent and detect ftaud and other i￿egular1ties.
The Trustees are restM)nsible for the maintenance and Inte￿ity of the financial and other inforniation provided to the
Charity Commission. Legislation in the UK governing the preparation and dissemination of fmancial statements May
differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.
