Objective of People For You
People For You exists to reduce loneliness and social isolation among adults living in Tetbury, Fairford, Lechlade and the surrounding villages.
We provide regular one-to-one home visits, telephone befriending and helpful signposting to other local activities and services. Our approach is personal and flexible, recognising that loneliness affects people in different ways and that a regular conversation or visit can make a significant difference.
In planning and carrying out its work, the trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.
Summary of the Main Achievements during 2025
During 2025, People For You continued to grow steadily while maintaining its core befriending service across Tetbury, Fairford, Lechlade and nearby villages.
Demand for the service continued to grow, with new referrals received from individuals,
families and a range of local professionals and organisations. We continued to match clients carefully with volunteers for regular home visits and telephone befriending, while also supporting existing relationships.
The charity continued to recruit and support new volunteers throughout the year. Careful matching remains central to our work, and we aim to ensure that both the client and volunteer feel comfortable and supported. Volunteers continue to play a vital role in the charity and enable us to reach more people experiencing loneliness and social isolation.
Our monthly Arts & Crafts group in Tetbury, which began towards the end of 2024, became firmly established during 2025. The group has proved to be a successful and welcoming addition to our work, giving people an opportunity to meet others in a relaxed and supportive environment. It has been particularly valuable for those who may find it difficult to join larger or more formal community activities.
We continued to work closely with local health and social care professionals, social prescribers, housing organisations and other community groups. These relationships remain important in helping people find our service and in ensuring that clients can be signposted to other appropriate support where needed.
Throughout the year, we also continued to raise awareness of People For You within the local community, helping potential clients, volunteers, families and referrers to understand more clearly what the charity offers.
Behind the scenes, the charity continued to maintain appropriate safeguarding procedures, DBS checks, volunteer support and trustee oversight. The trustees continued to monitor the development of the charity carefully so that growth remained manageable and the personal nature of the service was maintained.
Other Information
People For You supports adults who are lonely or socially isolated and who may benefit from regular contact, companionship and connection with their local community. Unpaid carers may also benefit indirectly from the support provided to the person they care for.
The charity is governed by its Board of Trustees, who oversee strategy, safeguarding, risk and compliance. Day-to-day management and coordination are carried out by the part-time Manager, supported by the charity’s volunteers.
We remain grateful to our volunteers, funders, donors, local partners and referrers, whose support enables the charity to continue its work.
Future Plans
Our aim for 2026 is to continue growing People For You steadily and sustainably, while maintaining the personal and flexible approach that is at the heart of the charity.
We plan to build on the success of our Tetbury Arts & Crafts group and continue developing opportunities for people to meet in a relaxed and welcoming setting. We also hope to create more opportunities for clients and volunteers to come together socially, including a summer event alongside our established Christmas gathering.
We will continue to recruit and support volunteers, develop our telephone befriending service and reach more people who are lonely or socially isolated across Tetbury, Fairford, Lechlade and the surrounding villages.
As the charity grows, we will continue to do so carefully, making sure that the quality and personal nature of the support we provide remain central to everything we do.
Financial Review
The charity remained financially stable during 2025 and continued to manage its funds prudently. Expenditure remained focused on the delivery and development of the charity’s services, including one-to-one befriending, telephone befriending and the continued development of the Tetbury Arts & Crafts group.
The charity was grateful to receive continued support from grant funders and donors during the year. This funding has enabled People For You to maintain its existing services while continuing to grow carefully in response to local need.
The trustees continued to monitor the charity’s income, expenditure and level of reserves throughout the year. They consider the charity to have sufficient resources to continue operating for at least the next twelve months.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF PEOPLE FOR YOU (the ‘Charity’)
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 December 2025.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view’ which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
