CHADDESLEY COMMUNITY CARE-REGISTERED CHARITY 1186785

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING October 8[th] 2025

REPORT FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE TRUSTEES

WELCOME to the AGM of the Chaddesley Community Care Charity for the financial year April 2024March 2025. **

Monthly meetings continue to include live entertainment, much of which is provided by members of the community, for which there is no charge. The Bingo session in January 2024, which was something of an experiment, was very much enjoyed, so much so that it will be repeated next year. Particular musical highlights have included The Droitwich Ukelele Band and the Ladies choir-Grace Notes. (UPDATE)

In line with the requirements of the Charity Commission we are in the process of completing a comprehensive Safeguarding Policy. This will be made available as soon as the Trustees have approved a final draft.

Following the resignation of Will Mack (previously Chair of the Parish Council) Councillor Sue Smith was appointed as a Trustee of the Charity. (UPDATE 1) (UPDATE 2)

The Trustees are grateful to the local community for continued support for the Care Café; this includes support from St Cassian’s Church and the Chaddesley Surgery. We are appreciative of donations made over the year from individuals and groups including the Parish, Wyre Forest and Worcestershire County Councils. Thanks to those of you who support our particular charity through the Wyre Forest Community Lottery.

We are continuing to supporting the Positive Ageing Project using Resistance Bands, which will run from the Village Hall each Friday. There is now a small charge for each session. Many of our guests from the Care Café join us and we have widened the group to include the over 50s who wish to live well and exercise more. This initiative has grown over time and we are led and encouraged by our enthusiastic trainer Dawn Painter. The sessions are popular within the local community and provide an excellent opportunity to engage in physical activity and meet with friends. (UPDATE)

The Care Café continues to thrive and remains a good place to be on the second Wednesday of each month, so please spread the word about our activities. Thank you for joining us. Please continue to do so and invite others to join us too. Thank you to the amazing group of Volunteers and Trustees who help everything to run smoothly. You make a massive contribution to provide an activity of real value to our community.
