The Trustees are pleased to present their report for the year ended 31 $1 March 2024.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordanc8 With the chartly's trust deed, the
Charities Act 2011 and Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Stalement of Recommended
Practice appll¢able to charities preparing their accounts in accordanc8 With th8 Financial
Reportlng Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland published {FRS 102) {a$
amended for accounting pericds commencing from 1st January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Al Your EDGE we want lo giv6 Indrviduals just that, an 'EDGE', socially, educationally and
profèssionally. W8 aim to support those who ENGAGE with our program to DEVELOP, GROW
and EMPOWERING them to take ownership of thelr own leamlng. We b81iev8 thls wlll wlden
an indivldu81's horizons. increasing aspirations which is key to increasing attainment.
We dellv8r a large portfolio of programs In Liverpool and th8 North West of England, whlch will
meet the needs of individuals, partiClP8nts and organisations. We fixus on developing
pro9rams that are both engaglng and practically transferable. Thes8 programs com8 In the
form of accredlted tralnlng, youth work delivery settings and bespok8 programs d8signed lo
meet the 8pe¢lfic needs of those we work with. We deliver to both community and the business
S8¢tor.

In con8ldering the objectives and aclivlties, the Truste83 have cons￿er8d the Ch8rlty
Commission's guldance on Public Benefit to ensure that the organl8atlon 5$ meetlng its Publlc
Benefit requlrements.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Over the past year Your EDGE has ¢onlinu8d to grow 8nd bulld further lInk￿relatIonShIpS wlth
local organlsations and people. W8 have s8cured another year of youlh work trainlng courses
at both L8vel 2 and Level 3. The organisation seen a passing out of over 55 new youth work8rs
Into our Communities. We have continued to grow our servic8s in schools and now deliver In a
number of hard to reach alternatlV8 education seltings. Ak)ngside this we have also support8d
the voluntary sector In many ways deliverlng Iralnlng to support their stsff and volunteers
developmant which has included introductions to youth work and sup8rvision skllls. We hav8
also seen an increase in demand on our work wilhin the youth ontre settings delivering group
work and continuing io support staff in tralning etc. We estlmated that this year we have
worked with a total of over 920 young people and 340 adults. These indivlduals have com8
from a verity of backgrounds and varied in levels of support needed.
We feel that the work we have continued to deliver has continued to give participants and the
voluntary sector an EDGE in the continued social and professional developmenl.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Total income for year was £117,801 (2023.. £100,767). of which £3.750 (2023.. £13.976) related
to funding for which restrictions are placed.
Total expenditure for year was £121.733 (2023.. £114,130), leavlng a deficit for the y8ar of
£3,93212023.' d8firit £13,363).
Al 3181 March 2024 the charitable Company's reserves stood at £8,176 {2023.' £12,108). of
which £3,755 (2023.. £9.467) represented restricted funds.

The Irustees have Conducted a review of the major risk8 to which the charitable company is
exposed and where appropriate. systems or procedures have been established to mitigate tha
risks the charity faces. Extemal risks to funding hav6 led to the development of a strat6gic
plan whl¢h will allow for the diversification of funding and activities, funding Strands have
become more competltlve and reduced in avallabillty.
Internal control risks are mlnimised by the implementation of proc8dures for authorisation of all
Ir8nsactions and projects. Procedures are in place to ensure compliance with health and
safety of staff, volunt68rs, service users and visltors to th8 premises. Standards are monltored
both internally and externally lo ensure consistent quality of delivery for all operational aspects
of the charity. Thes8 procedure5 are periodically reviewed to ensure that they contlnue to
meet the ne8ds of the charitab18 Company.

reduces on travel etc.

It 18 the policy of the charitable company to maSntain unrestricted funds at a level to cover
redundancy Pfovislon and to COV8r one month running costs Should no furth8r funding be
receiv8d.
As al the end of the financial perlod the unrestrlcted funds totall8d £4.421. The charltab18
company r8qulres £nll for redundancy provision and £9.356 for one month running costs.
The trustees plan to build up the unrestricted reserve back to threa monihs running costs
through contracts. donatlon8, and fundralsing.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
As an organ18alion we have set pout three maln plans for this year. We alm to flrstly incr8ase
fundlng support by apply to more funder8 and broaden our d81iv8ry of servlces showlng the
variety thal we can deliver. Secondly, we aim to push the development and adv8rtlsement of
the mobi18 new hub to hopefully asslst communities more and increase funding support lo the
organlsatlon. Lastly, we will be looking into the Opllon of employing another member of staff to
help with the above development and staffing.
STRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The organisation is a charitable cornpany limited by guarantee, incorporated on 6th September
2018 (Company number 11555316} and registered as a charity on 5th Decemb8r 2019 (Charity
number 1188772). It was related to Your Edge C.l.C. (company number 09370537) wlth
common directors dissolved 041h January 2022.
The Governlng Instruments under which the charitable company operates comprise the
Memorandum and Articles of Association dated 5th September 2018.
About our Trustees
Paul Hogan is a Trustee at Your Edge and an acttve tutor within the organlsation. Paul com8s
with a deplh of experience and knowledge that encompasses both the voluntary and statutory
sectors. He has postgraduat8 qualifications in both Sports Science and Youth & Communlty
Work.

He brings local. national. and intèmational understanding of youth work, volunteering, and the
professional and personal development sectors which provide a wide-ranging knowledg& base

and voluntary sectors. gives him vast knowledge in many arèas, notably Health & Saf8ty, Risk
Assessment and Safeguardlng.
Paul is passionate about the development of people, sp8¢lfically the development of
programmes that are engaging. empowering, enjoyable and that encourage parti¢lpatlon whllsl
enhancing Iha individual's enthusiasm for education and personal development.
Ryan Manvllle (MIFireE) is a Trustee at Your Edgè and an active tutor within the organisatlon.
Ryan brings vast experience and knowledge of working within both the private, public, and
voluntary sectors. He 8150 comes with a depth of skills and qualifications includlng a
postgraduate qualification in Fire and Leadership (Hons).
Ryan's experienc8 comes from not only 8 Flre Safety background but also medlcal wllh St
John Ambulance. His career and education have also leaded him lo galn 8 significant amount
of management, leadership. and buslness skills. Comin9 from a physical background, Ryan
a150 has a variety of qualifications in sports as well as 188¢hing ac¢redlt8tions.
H81ping people grow and develop is his passion In lrfe and he is always wllllng to support
People to reach Ihelr potentlal. Ryan has worked wllh a wide range of people from varlous
backgrounds 8nd throughout the age ranges. He belleves that by engaglng and developlng

communlty.
Sandra Browne is a Trustee at Your Edge with a wealth of experlence In Human Resources:
currently completing her masler's in social care as a Sodal Work8r In Safeguardlng. She Is
critical friend within the organisalion who continues to questlon and ensure we remaln on

is sufficient certainty of receipt and so it is probable that the incom8 will be received, and

Income and gains are exempt from taxa￿On as they are applled for Charftable purpos88
only. The charitable company benefits from varlous exemptions from taxation afforded by
lax legislation and is not liable to Corporation tax on income or gains falling wilhln Ihose
