## **WOMERSLEY VILLAGE COMMUNITY HALL TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT FOR 2022** 

## **Planning** 

At the start of the year we were still in discussion with Selby District Council regarding planning approval for our original plans. 

In March, we met an officer from North Yorkshire Highways department on site and after some consultation we agreed to create a vehicular passing place in Cow Lane and adopt minor alterations at the entrance to the field where the new community hall will be built.  Another resident, who operates a business on Cow Lane, has agreed to share equally the cost of constructing the passing place. 

In June, following advice from the planning team at Selby and consultees, including residents, we drafted new plans with significant changes to our original ones.  The revised plan is to have a single building of 20m x 10m. This will be more achievable bearing in mind the recent increases in building costs. 

## **Trustees** 

At our AGM in July Paul White resigned from his posts as trustee and chair on health grounds. We thanked Paul for his dedication and efforts over the past few years. That left 4 remaining trustees: Roy Crossland, Rachel Hattersley, Gina Milne and Manda Denny. 

## **Fundraising** 

Early in the year the Courtyard Tearooms, a venue for many of our fundraising events unfortunately closed.  Despite that, we managed to hold 3 events in the course of 2022: 

- in May, in conjunction with St Martin’s church, we organised a concert by the Liquorice Singers from Pontefract.  This raised £231.00 for the village hall; 

- 

in September, a walking treasure hunt was arranged around the village, raising £57.00; and 

- in November, a Beetle Drive at the nearby “Blue Lagoon” raised £95.00. 



The 100 Club monthly lottery continues to provide our main source of revenue. 

In total over the year we had a surplus of £1,788.00.
