Review of last yearfs operatlons
YOH Employment and Educatlon Butsarles
Thanks to YOH Reserves
Like previous years. there have been hu8e cuts and areas in East L￿￿on were afferted the m05t. We were
overwhelmed wlth the number of young people needing our support to get into education, employment, and
trainin8 but the cuts have meant that workers have not been able to respond in the same way. Many staff
have taken up volunteerin8 to help relievè the stress on demand but with the closing of other services, we
have been unable to match the demand. We a150 noticed thè huge cuts meant youn8 people could not
compete forjobs in a fair way and whllst many projects supported people into jobs, those that needed the
most support were glven the least as these young people are considefed as-expenslve outputs," so the focu5
is on the"quick wins." YOH'S objective require5 it to fo￿$ on those most in need.
Agaln, thls year, the board decided to Use their reserve5 to support some of the hardest to Teach youn8
