## **ANNUAL REPORT 2023** 

The Hamsterley Community Sports Association (“HCSA”) and its working group, in partnership with the Hamsterley Parish Council, has continued to progress the MUGA refurbishment project in 2023, with a significant proportion of the works completed during the year. 

Following on from the full project funding being secured in 2022, work commenced on the MUGA refurbishment in spring 2023. Initially a local landscaping contractor prepared the site by clearing and cutting back vegetation to allow access to the MUGA. Then in the summer the main contractor started the refurbishment works, which was completed at the end of the summer. By October all works were finished and the MUGA was open to the public. 

An opening event was held at the end of October which was well attended by members of the local community, the HCSA trustees and representatives of several of the funding providers. An online booking system was also developed and went live in December. The final stage of the project, the installation of a footpath to allow safe pedestrian access to the MUGA, is due to be completed in 2024.
