## **HAMSTERLEY COMMUNITY SPORTS ASSOCIATION** ## **ANNUAL REPORT 2019/2020** The Hamsterley Community Sports Association (“HCSA”) and its working group, in partnership with Hamsterley Parish Council, has continued to make efforts to progress the tennis court refurbishment project in 2019/2020. During 2019 we held a number of public meetings (14/7/2019), as well as a survey of the village (March and April 2019) to gauge support for the project, from which we received strong endorsement. We also received several letters of support – from Hamsterley Primary School and the Parish Council, as well as various pledges of funding. With the arrival of the pandemic in early 2020, and a pause in funding by several potential grant-making agencies, activities were put generally on hold, and the committee did not meet again until early 2021. At that point the working group engaged with the company ‘Groundworks’ in order to assess potential sources of funding in the post-pandemic environment, and to develop a funding plan. The project was kicked off in April 2021 and the first report from Groundworks took place in July 2021. At that point it was decided, in view of the fact that many funding sources were still closed due to the pandemic, to re-assess in October 2021.
