1. The Chair (Ailsa Yeo) introduced all attendees and welcomed everyone to the 2021 AGM.
2. Absence apologies noted. Ashleigh Fiala (Group Secretary), Nicky Jones (Cub Leader), Steve Richards (District Commissioner), Thierry Catheya (Scout Leader)
3. The GSL (Group Scout Leader, Fiona Jones) took us through a review of scouting in the Group for the past year.

Thanks to everyone who was involved and donated money to the hut renovations. It’s great having such a fantastic hut and garden

Held an excellent opening party in July with Tim Kidd OBE, the UK Chief Commissioner for The Scout Association, Nigel Bevan, County Commissioner and Steve Richards, District Commissioner

Pleased that we have now opened an Explorer Unit

Good Activity Day for the whole group at Paccar Scout campsite

Thank you to all Leaders and Helpers for everything they do

Good that the hut can now be rented out for more money for the Group

The Treasurer (Kevin Jones) presented the Groups latest statement of accounts (full copy on request) for the financial year that ended 31st March 2021 .

Unusual year as little spent on activities due to Covid
-
The Group’s big outgoing continues to be for Capitation.

Hut renovations cost £28,500

Cubs spend the most on badges - £729

GoCardless take 3% but it’s worth it for ease of payments coming in

Gift Aid has provided a high income (but not for this financial year) – need to encourage more parents to sign up to this.
5. Approval of the GSL’s nomination of the Group Chair: Ailsa Yeo
- All in attendance, by a show of hands, approved the nomination of Ailsa Yeo as the Group chair.
6. Election of the Group Secretary: Ashleigh Fiala
- All in attendance, by a show of hands, approved the nomination of Ashleigh Fiala as the Group Secretary (in her absence).
7. Election of the Group Treasurer: Kevin Jones
- All in attendance, by a show of hands, approved the nomination of Kevin Jones as the Group Treasurer.
8. Election of additional members to the Executive Committee: None
- Lisa Montague said she would be happy to attend future meetings to give her support
9. Appointment of Group Auditor (Jenny Smyth)
- All in attendance, by a show of hands, approved the appointment of Jenny Smyth as independent auditor for the Group.
10. Presentations

Each of the Leaders provided a brief update on activity in their respective areas across 2020.

i. Beavers – Carly Anderson
- 20 Beavers. Space for some younger and older ones. 2 new leaders – Rachel and Abbey and an occasional helper – James Slatter. 6 Bronze awards given. Good attendance over zoom in lockdown. Have done lots of great activities – ice skating, kayaking, Go Ape etc.

ii. Cubs – Nicky Jones (read out in her absence)
- 23 Cubs. 8 Silver awards given. Offering a varied programme. Zoom sessions successful during lockdown. Good camp at the hut and lots of outdoor activities. 6 leaders. Thanks to Dominic who has now gone to university but will still help in the holidays.

iii. Scouts – Thierry Catheya
18 Scouts at present. Covid has been a challenge but lots of meetings via zoom and momentum has been maintained. Lots of activities undertaken at Earleywood, Go karting and Liquid Leisure. Home camp was a highlight with morning exercise. Ceri has joined and a third patrol created. Hoping to have a Scout camp next Spring. Numbers are now good with cubs joining and older scouts moving onto other ventures.

12. Closing Remarks
Camp permits – more needed within the Group Ceri mentioned that the Parish Council are hosting a community event for the Jubilee and our scout group rather than Sunningdale should be involved. All agree.
