| Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit) |
To give relief, to heal and comfort, those in need who have experienced distress and bereavement as a consequence of a late miscarriage by the provision of a burial and memorial garden. |
|---|---|
| Currently raising funds to obtain a plot of land for the much needed burial garden. This burial garden will allow us all a place to remember and lay to rest our sons and daughters who have been born through a late miscarriage. The garden will provide a sanctuary for parents to heal and gain comfort through their grief and loss after losing their baby angel. With no legal birth certificate for the baby they hold in their arms, families are devasted and are suffering in isolation. The garden will help cherish and recognise their baby’s life by allowing them in our hearts and give them a place to exist in our World for Eternity. This garden has the vision to be used to bring the whole family together, where siblings can play to together to unite the family when one or some siblings are missing. We have the vision of an angel statue, where the wings are made up with feathers with the lost baby’s name on. (These can be names of babies lost through all types of baby loss. We have been raising funds through charity events, all limited through the Covid Pandemic and Cost Of Living Crisis. Meetings were held to set out costings and ways to raise funds through the pandemic and cost of living crisis and also gain awareness of baby loss. We have researched and searched for suitable land and we continue to do so. We were offered plots that were not suitable. |

Section D Achievements and performance We have raised funds through collection pots and selling of flap jacks Summary of the main situated in local businesses and shops. We aim to distribute more to achievements of the charity alternative premises. during the year We have gained help from further influential people – Councillors/ MPs who are keen for our charity to succeed. Our local MP has pointed us in the direction of contacts who can help. We have had local land owner companies Imerys and Tregothnan Estates looking for suitable land. (However, they do not have anything suitable for our requirements) We have had the support of a local School taking part in a charity event whilst supporting our Trustee Stuart taking part in another Dusk til Dawn cycling event. We have updated our website and designed it so our up to date news can be seen and vision more clearly available. Our founder Trustee has written her story on losing her son through her son’s eyes to captivate the suffering and loss parents feel. Also to highlight a miscarried child does exist and help raise awareness that miscarriage is a traumatic and devasting loss. To highlight the need to have a sanctuary where parents can go to heal and be given comfort in their loss. The Freemasons have been a great support raising funds and selecting our charity as one they have supported throughout this financial year. A local pub has helped raise funds through a charity Boxing Day Dip event. Carboots have been used to sell products and advertise the charity. We have done a Trustee Triathlon event over 3 days to obtain funds using the local leisure centres. We are still aiming to use the Camel Trail for a Monkey Cycle Ride an would like this to be an annual event. We would like to invest in a printed gazebo to attend charity day events to help us stand out. Organising future fundraising events to raise money – Using the Ultra Challenge to do a charity walk and thinking of products we can use to sell.
