## **Overview of Jan 2021 – Dec 2021**

The church, like many in the country was moving cautiously out of lockdown, putting government proposals in place to try to keep the congregation free from Covid. Although different members did contract Covid we are pleased to say that they were all kept safe and that no-one contracted it during the church meetings.

We started 2021 reviewing the function of a healthy church looking specifically at:

- Our relationship with God “Up”, including prayer and worship

- Our relationships within the church “Around”, seeking to please God

- Our relationships to those not yet part of God’s church “Out” and the need to bless the community that we are in.

We also took the opportunity of looking at how we develop with the ending of lockdown and meeting together again. We looked at how we may maintain an online presence for those having to shelter, but with the internet connection being so poor at our meeting place and that we could not log onto the school internet we were unable to do this. David Crisp continued the relatively “old and trusted method” of emailing recordings of the service to those unable to attend.

Other aspects covered in the preaching and teaching were the gifts of the Holy Spirit, highlighting how people can move forward in the gifts of the Spirit moving from receiving in prayer to using the gifts and encouraging others to use their God given gifts; Joseph’s life looking at how ordinary he was yet how God used him extraordinarily; this was followed by looking at how God used another ordinary man in an amazing way as we journeyed through the Book of Exodus.

The church continue to support one another through informal networks and making good use of the church WhatsApp group for prayer and letting each other know what is going on as well as using tried and trusted methods such as email and telephone calls.

We managed to have one men’s breakfast this year. Our normal format is a social or videos showing debates and apologetics. We recognise the importance of realising that we have a reasonable faith, in the face of what the world tells us.

Due to Covid and church family circumstances ‘Pause’ events for women had been on hold until the Pause Women’s prayer breakfast in October.

TFM Walk the Way – We continue developing our relationship with TFM. Jason joined the team on Week six of a pilgrimage across the country where two teams were walking, one from Lowestoft in East Anglia and the other from St David’s in West Wales with the goal of meeting up in the middle. While Jason was walking through Mid Wales Karen was hosting a team travelling through Bluntisham towards Huntingdon. The church was invited for a breakfast and had the opportunity to hear one of the team share his testimony. Jason was with a team of four praying for different people while journeying along the pilgrim route, sharing the gospel with those we came across and encouraging church leaders that we met and some that we stayed with.

Over the Christmas period we were able to have a team to do carol singing outside the homes of those members who were still having to isolate as well as visit the Hay Wain who were thrilled to have along again to sing to their customers.

The church bookstall had been held in St Ives marketplace and then moved to an indoor market in the Corn Exchange. The Corn Exchange changed managers and the indoor market closed, and with it the bookstall. A lot of people involved in the bookstall due to age and concerns about Covid have pulled out so we had to close the bookstall down.

Blessings with Brioche was a new outreach that we had to reach the community and invite people to join us at our carol service. We also gave people brioche and leaflets advertising our meetings and gospel booklets for those who expressed an interest in learning more about the Christion faith.

Jason and Karen Street continue working with Rev Sheila Anthony as New Wine leaders Network reps for the Cambridgeshire region, activities have included arranging meetings for church leaders and their congregations from Cambridgeshire.

With possible Covid restrictions in the air we felt it best not to have a church weekend this year as there would be shared meals and closer contact between people

We continue to thank God for all that He continues to do among us, His faithfulness to us and for moving among us, also for technology that has enabled us to keep together in spite of national lockdowns in the fight against the coronavirus.
