## **Contents** |Report of the trustees|Page 2-4| |---|---| |Income and Expenditure|Page 5| |Balance Sheet|Page 6| |Independent Examiner’s Report|Page 7-8| [Type here] The Junction Church Report and Accounts For the year ended 31st March 2022 Page 1 **The Junction Church** ## **Report of the trustees for the year ended 31[st] March 2022** The trustees present their annual report, together with the income and expenditure of the charity, for the year ended 31[st] March 2022. ## **ADMINISTRATION DETAILS** The Junction Church is governed by its Constitution dated 29[th] November 2019 and was created as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (“the CIO”) registered with the Charity Commission, No. 1186665. ## **TRUSTEES** The trustees holding office were as follows: Mark Bean (Chair) Lydia Todd Carolyn Bean Joseph Ohajunwa New trustees are appointed by existing trustees when appropriate and selected based on skills, experience and sympathy with the aim and values of the charity. The day-to-day operational aspect of the charity is delegated to Roy & Lydia Todd the senior pastors. ## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** The principal objects of the charity are: - To advance the Christian Faith and the worship of God in any part of the world, including the teaching and training of Christian people and the printing and distribution of the Bible and Christian literature using any form of media. - To relieve people in any part of the world who are aged or sick or who are in conditions of need, hardship and distress. - To advance education based on Christian principles. The main activities are: - Working with churches and charities in the UK and overseas, to teach, empower and equip people to develop life skills that will help them find employment, a better balance of family life as well as helping serve their communities better. - Teaching the values of the Christian faith helping build a society that defeats poverty and helps people to live honourable lives that both respect themselves and others. m [Type here] The Junction Church Report and Accounts For the year ended 31st March 2022 Page 2 ## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE** Easter 2021 saw the resumption of in-person services once again, with covid-robust measures in place, such as a booking system, social distancing, the wearing of masks and temperature checks upon entry. Throughout 2021, The Junction Church continued to operate in all three of its campuses – Loughborough, Leicester and Nottingham and saw all these congregations slowly return to usual attendance as the fear of the pandemic began to subside. In order to maintain strong community and keep everyone as safe as possible, The Junction Church continued to stream their services online for anyone who felt unsafe or was unable to attend in person. This new Online Campus soon began to grow and towards the end of 2021 was seeing many new people join from across the world including Virginia, Nigeria and parts of Southern Asia also. The Junction Church continued to run training and teaching courses online, through the platform Zoom, which were able to reach hundreds of people and provide a space in which to grow in their faith and receive leadership and team training. August 2021 saw the resumption of in-person Life Groups, where the community has a chance to get together and have fellowship in smaller, more intimate groups on a weekly basis. Everyone was given a choice as to whether to attend an in-person or online Life Group in order to ensure that the community felt as safe as possible. Community Outreach continued to be a high priority for The Junction Church, and the summer of 2021 saw the launch of FTW (For The Win) – a week-long schools and community projects week, where a small team of volunteers went into local schools and helped out with grounds work, put on community fun-days and provided resources for families during the school break. Simultaneously, in conjunction with The Beacon Church in Loughborough, volunteers ran a Breakfast Club over that week, where families could come and get free breakfast and our Kids and Youth Workers put on some fun activities to keep children entertained for the morning. The Junction Church continues to work alongside and support The Beacon Church, with Pastor Roy Todd as their Senior Pastor. Volunteers from the Junction Church help facilitate the weekly services at The Beacon Church and are also able to use the Office Space at The Beacon Church’s venue for mid-week meetings and events, allowing The Junction Church to grow its team and expand on the services they can provide for the local community. Christmas 2021 saw the re-launch of Winter Wonderland, which had been cancelled the previous year due to Covid-restrictions. This community event saw hundreds from the local community come in for a short Christingle service, followed by free food, games, face painting, Santa’s Grotto, bouncy castle and lots more! Early 2022 saw services return to ‘normal’ as all covid restrictions were lifted and meetings could all resume as before the pandemic. The Junction Church ensured to keep some measures in place in order to be sensitive to those who were still wary, but worked to remove all measures by early March 2022. [Type here] The Junction Church Report and Accounts For the year ended 31st March 2022 Page 3 ## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** The net of income and expenditure for the year are a healthy net surplus of £105,497 on unrestricted funds. Restricted funds net was a surplus of £15,897. Bank balances held at 31 March 2022 were £254,073 held in unrestricted funds and £105,215 held in restricted funds. ## **RESERVES POLICY** The policy is to hold cash reserves equivalent to six months expenditure. The charity currently holds unrestricted reserves covering 16 months expenditure. ## **PAYMENTS TO TRUSTEES** Payments made in the year to Lydia Todd in relation to her employment for services provided were £33,960. This is allowed in the governing document and Charity Commission guidance has been followed. ## **RELATED PARTY TRANSACTIONS** Payments of £46,880 were made to Roy Todd in relation to employment for services provided, who is connected to Lydia Todd, trustee.
