|Summary of the purposes of<br>the charity as set out in its<br>governing document|Para 1.17|The  primary  objectives  of  Guru  Nanak’s<br>Mission  (GNM)  are  the  prevention  and<br>relief of poverty, for the public benefit in<br>Nottingham and the surrounding areas, in<br>particular  but not exclusively  through  the<br>provision of free hot food to people who are<br>homeless or at risk of becoming homeless<br>and/ or in financial need.<br>Guru Nanak’s Mission also support projects<br>and  events  aimed  at  promoting  mental<br>health, education and physical activity<br>amongst  young  children.  This  support  is<br>primarily  via  the  provision  of  food  for<br>community events.<br>The  activities  of  the  CIO  also  serve  to<br>benefit volunteers - volunteers express that<br>they benefit from the social aspect of the<br>project and have created a social circle and<br>strong  friendships.  Volunteers  who  have<br>provided feedback regarding their<br>experience have highlighted the impact that<br>GNM has made on their lives in giving them<br>a  sense  of  purpose  and  to  practically<br>provide support to their community.<br>The  activities  of  the  CIO  celebrate  and<br>encourage social responsibility and support|

Vegetarian meals<br>are prepared fresh on the day and served<br>at  a  designated  meeting  point  twice  a<br>week. The number of meals prepared and/<br>or delivered fluctuate throughout the year<br>and are dependent on demand which has<br>increased 2023/24. On average we provide<br>approx. 10,000 meals on an annual basis.<br>Additional activities include:<br>• Provision of food parcels to local charities<br>and vulnerable individuals.<br>We work in collaboration with organisations<br>who deal with recovery services for drugs<br>and alcohol, domestic violence, and<br>housing. Recently due to the increase in<br>clients using the service we are working<br>with a number of other charities and food<br>banks and provision of food across<br>Nottingham.<br>• Provision of meals to children in school<br>holidays (HAF programme in collaboration<br>with Nottingham Forest Community Trust)<br>Collaboration has also been made with<br>Nottingham Cricket Club to support the<br>distribution of foods and parcels.<br>• Provision of free food and drinks for<br>community events<br>•Continued collaborations with local|

The  wider  volunteer  group<br>are encouraged to take part in all aspects<br>of GNM activities, if they wish.<br>Several stakeholder events with volunteers<br>have taken place to:<br>listen  to  their  views  and  input  into  the<br>improvement of our services.<br>Provide Feedback is given to volunteers on<br>their suggestions and any issues that they<br>have voiced.<br>In 2023 training procedures and awareness<br>of the operational services was reviewed.<br>2024  will  has  seen  further  training  of<br>volunteers, to  act up  as  coordinators,<br>thereby widening the support for the<br>objectives of the CIO.|
