Covid-19 pandemic effects on the Charity
Covid-19 pandemic has had an adverse effect on the Charity. This has impacted negatively in achieving the objectives of the charity. It was also very difficult to meet the regulatory requirements because of the pandemic.
Summary of the main achievements during the period
The Charity commenced activities on 12[th] August 2020.
The activities were to donate to needy causes in the Republic of Sierra Leone. Two causes were identified:
-
1- Covid-19 Response
-
2- Orphans Support
The Charity’s activities were limited due to this being the first year of operation and the effect of the Covid Pandemic. It was very difficult opening a bank account and sourcing professional help to fulfil the regulatory requirements.
As of 31[st] December 2020, the charity had been in operation for less than five months.
Public Benefit
Salaam International Aid has referred to the guidance in the Charity Commission’s General Guidance on Public Benefit when reviewing its aims and objectives, and in planning its activities. The activities of the charity are planned to contribute to the aims and objectives set out in our Constitution.
