BANGLADESH HEALTH DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE
Trustees’ Annual Report and Financial Statement For The Year Ended 31st January 2021
Annual Report 2021
Message From The Chair of Trustees
This has been a year like no other. A year in which the Covid pandemic has taken away so many lives and overwhelmed many health services all over the world. Many aspects of our lives have been so different since the start of the pandemic. One thing that didn’t change is the generosity of our donors, supporters and volunteers and as a result of this we at BHDI have been able to continue our good work in improving the health of the poor and needy in Bangladesh. The year started with our flagship Health Tour in which we provided free medical camps in several locations. As the Covid pandemic took hold we were able to provide help and assistance to affected families in Bangladesh as well as the UK. The floods in Bangladesh were the worst for many years and we were able to provide some help to those that were affected. This was also the second year of our dengue awareness campaign and as a result of the Covid pandemic this was done mainly through a social media campaign and the commissioning of an animated video.
The achievements of the last year have been many and none of it would have been possible without the hard work of all those involved with BHDI. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude and appreciation to all our donors, volunteers and well wishers for their continued support and hard work.
BHDI continues to make a difference in helping to improve access to healthcare for the most needy communities in Bangladesh. Over the next year we have exciting plans for projects that will provide longer term health benefits to these communities.

Plans for 2021
Whilst 2020 has been a very successful year, we always strive to improve and our aim is to make 2021 an even better year. One of our aims going forward is to streamline our projects so that we concentrate on fewer projects to ensure that we deliver them to the highest standards. Our annual health camps have been hugely successful but it does not address the ongoing health needs of the communities in Bangladesh. As such one of our main aims for 2021 will be to establish regular ongoing monthly clinics so that we can provide medical care to needy communities throughout the year.
The entire team at BHDI look forward to 2021 to continue our mission to improve the health of the poor and needy in Bangladesh.
