
## **Chairman’s report – October 2022** 

The past year has witnessed a steady increase in momentum for the charity. We now have 24 Mentors assisting charities across the two counties, and as I write 19 are actively engaged with a mentee. 

The primary aim of our work is to provide mentoring support for voluntary sector leaders who want to make a difference in their communities. This is achieved by the careful matching of the skills of the mentor to the perceived needs of the mentee. This key part of our service is the task of our coordinator Ian Noble to whom we owe a great deal of thanks. We have ambition to add to our coordinator resource dependent upon funding allowing greater coverage of both sides of the county. To continue to provide this pro bono advice we are grateful to our funders, the Sussex Community Foundation, the Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust, the Chalk Cliff Trust, the Lund Trust and the National Lottery. 

We have redesigned our website to spread the message more efficiently to the broader community and our grateful thanks to Youbiquity Ltd for their advice and assistance. I would also like to thank the Lieutenancies of East and West Sussex for their help and encouragement, and to all the Voluntary Agencies across both counties who have provided invaluable advice. 

Lastly but by no means least I would like to thank my board of Trustees whose collective wisdom is so essential in running a charity. In that regard particular thanks are due to Tim Hancock our Treasurer and Trustees Ken Walker and Martin Richards both of whom are standing down this year.
