We hold full mentor CVs on fle and aim to ensure that when appointing a volunteer mentor to a mentee, there is a good match in terms of the skills required to meet the mentee need. Our website hosts a mentor section making public a short biography for each volunteer.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summa r y of the main achievements of the cha r ity d u r ing the yea r

It has been a challenging f rst 12 months (November 2019October 2020) with the impact of COVID on the work of p roviding pro bono mentoring. During this 12-month period, we completed 21 mentoring p rojects and started 11 more. That’s 32 diferent charity leaders who have beneftted rf om mentoring during the initial year of CIO status.

The numbers a re less than we would have expected to see without the impact of the pandemic. Our mentee clients need to approach a mentoring placement f rom a place of strength and desire to move their ro ganisation forward strategically. When the pandemic f rst hit in March 2020, the natural reaction was for mere survival and the demand for mentoring lessened. This d d i pick up however, as restrictions were lifted albeit to comply with social distancing restrictions, most mentoring was delivered by virtual means rather than a more t raditional face-to-face approach.

During the year, we have held discussions with colleagues in West Sussex towards taking our mentoring model into this part of the county, p reviously only operating in East Sussex. We have been successful in applying for rg ant funding attracting £11,500 f rom a spread of four diferent o rganisations during this 12-month period.
