March **2012** **TAR** 2 The charity has taken in rodents and rabbits from members of the public who needed to rehome their animals for various reasons including financial issues, health problems, relocations, work commitments, or general inability to care for the animals (often as a result of a lack of research carried out prior to obtaining the animal). We have also accepted stray/dumped animals including some discovered abandoned in rental properties when tenants have moved out. We have continued to work with other rescues both locally and nationally to provide rescue space for rodents or rabbits from large welfare cases, including animals surrendered to the RSPCA. Similar to the previous reporting period, we have taken in animals from situations where members of the public had purchased mis-sexed rodents or rabbits, resulting in unexpected and unwanted offspring. In some cases, multiple litters were born back to back and the owners were unable to cope. These volunteers care for animals in their own homes while they await adoption. The charity runs at maximum capacity and trustees note that the organisation is rapidly outgrowing its current premises within the home of trustees SW & WH.
