Structure, Governance, and Management:
Coffin Club Derby is a charitable incorporated organization (CIO) established to support individuals in preparing for funerals, coping with the death of loved ones, and combating 'funeral poverty.' The charity is governed by its constitution, with trustees responsible for strategic oversight and decision-making.
Objectives and Activities:

Educate the community about end-of-life planning and funeral options.

Provide support and resources to individuals facing bereavement.

Address and alleviate funeral poverty by offering affordable alternatives.
Achievements and Performance:
From April 2024 to March 2025, Coffin Club Derby supported 13 individuals with funeral planning, including one living funeral. We appeared on ITV in April 2024 in a documentary titled "The Cost of Funerals," which raised national awareness and brought increased engagement. Most support was delivered via Zoom or telephone. No funding was raised, no expenses were incurred, and trustees worked on a voluntary basis.
Plans for Future Periods:
Coffin Club Derby will enter a hiatus in 2025/26 due to trustee commitments to the Baton
of Hope. 1:1 support will continue, and attendance at community events will be maintained. We will review future plans and continue to seek sustainable ways forward.
Public Benefit Statement:
The trustees confirm compliance with section 17(5) of the Charities Act 2011, having regard to public benefit guidance.
