Haringey Street Pastors Registered Charity No.: 1186484 htt s=/lstreet aslors.or ocaiionslharin TREET JASTORS ANNUAL REPORT & ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR 2024 (01.01.2024- 31.12.2024) Presented to the AGM/Management Team Meeting on 24.04.2025 BACKGROUND Haringey Street Paslors (HSP) siarted lis activities in the London Borough of Haringey in September 2006. HSP became a CIO on 20.11.2019. HSP is a small local initiative currently with 7 active members in 2 teams, all being a member of a local Church with various Christian denomination. ACTIVITIES Out of the 25 ouiings scheduled for the reporting period, HSP realised 23 patrols, amounting to about 234 volunteers hours. During these patrols, a tal of 553 boicles were collected and safely disposed off. On each patrol at least 3 Sireet Pastors are present, which ts the required minimum as stipulated by its umbrella organisation Ascension Trust. Before a patrol is going oui, the Police is asked for a CAD number and told where a Team will be going that night. Patrolling usually starts ai around I I..00 ptn on a Friday night and finishes around 1:00 am Saturday morning. Team5 normally go io Ihose areas Én the Borough where social unrest isn't unusual but when we encounter (serious) unrest, we inform the Police and try to Slay out of trouble. Luckily, these situations are rather uncommon. We engage with local shopkeepers and members of ihe public and as it's quite common being asked what'5 the meaning of Ihe highly visible markings on our uniforms we explain what Street Pastoring is about, for which we, almost without excepuon, receive a very positive response. MANAGEMENT CoMMIEE MEETINGS During the reporting period we had 2 Management Committee Meetings and stayed in regular contact by email and text messages. Chairman's Report During this reporting period Haringey Street Pastors realised 23 patrols each with an adequate number of participating Street Pastors. For each patrol, chere have lo be at least 3 Street Pastors preseni. Interactions between men]bers of the public and Haringey Street Pastors have been excellent and our nighdy presence on ihe streets of the Borough is definiiely appreciated. Throughout the reporting year, contacts with the Metropoliian Police have been maintained to obtain a CAD number before going out on patrol. After having finished patrols, the Police 15 informed to close the CAD number. Recruiting candidate Streei Pastors to reinforce our numbers has been as in previous years difficult. People simply are mostly reluciani io sacrifice a couple of (nighdy) hours during weekends, but recruiting candidates remains nevertheless urgent as mosi of our currently active Street Pastors are over 70 years of age, while some of ihem have been acuve as from the start of Haringey Street Pastors in September 2006. The absence of a (part-iime) coordinator puts an extra burden on the Trustees, secreiary functioning as subsuiuie, exacerbated by increased domestic responsibiliiies. The rather large amount of £800.00 HSP pays towards Ascension Trusi as yearly contribution is certainly Pulling a heavy burden on our limited financial resources and puts its long term viabiliiy in doubt. It has proven to be rather hard to get financial support of local Churche5; only private donations are HSP'S source of income. Nicholas Durden, Chair.
