PRINCIPAL OBJECTS

  1. To preserve and protect human life in Kenilworth, Stoneleigh, Ashow and Leek Wootton (the community) by the provision of training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of Automatic External Defibrillators (AED)

  2. To support the acquisition and maintenance of 24/7 publicly accessible AED’s registered with The Circuit (The National Defibrillator Network) in strategic locations across the community to provide broad geographical coverage

ACTIVITY FOR THE REPORTING PERIOD

  1. KHS’ CPR training sessions in the community continued to be curtailed by the Covid 19 pandemic preventing any training in the reporting period. Initial arrangements are in hand for the recommencement of appropriately adapted training sessions, to reflect the requisite social distancing requirements of the Covid pandemic, in July 2021.

  2. KHS facilitated the acquisition and installation of 4 more publicly accessible AED’s across the community (Budgens, Steve Crowe Butchers, The Gauntlet, Castle Brook Care Home) and facilitated the public accessibility of an existing AED (Kenilworth Rugby Club). This brings the total number of AED’s 24/7 publicly accessible in the community and registered with The Circuit to 22. The location of future AED’s continues to be kept under review.

  3. During the period the manufacturer reported a recall of specific AED’s which were subject to a potential malfunctioning and by a process of temporarily replacing affected AED’s by short term loan equipment supplied by the distributor it was possible to maintain 100% availability of all AED’s under KHS’ care. At the date of this report all equipment is understood to be fully functional with no outstanding recalls.
