## _**Objectives and Activities**_
Summary of purposes: THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DOCTRINAL BASIS OF FAITH SET OUT IN THE ANNEX TO THE CONSTITUTION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC OF LAPFORD, DEVON AND THE SURROUNDING AREA.
Main activities: We are a Church group who meet together to promote Christian Faith in the village and local area. In addition to meeting together for fellowship, the Church have purchased a local building which is used as a drop in café, foodbank and by the community for other activities.
Statement re Charity Commission guidance: The trustees have regarded the Charity Commission guides whenever there have been decisions to make on the actions of the charity and continue to administer the governance of the fellowship under the Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
## _**Achievements and Performance**_
Summary of main achievements: Over recent years The Ark has been really busy with its work of the foodbank but also in its role as a hub within Lapford and the wider community. As times become more financially challenging the food bank will be even busier. As well as this the other facilities of The Ark are even more important giving support to those in and around the village. The compassionate fund is continuing to be administered by the management of The Ark and with the other areas of The Ark these are an important means of our Christian outreach. The space which has been opened upstairs is really beneficial to the community as a library and reading area.

Description of charity trusts:
The Charity is made up of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Association Model) and is controlled by its trust deed.
Trustee selection methods:
Within the Trustees we have a rolling period of service after which a Trustee will stand down. There then follows a voting process regarding election.

Any other name: Recently the Church has changed its name from Yeo Valley Christian Fellowship to Lapford Community Church to reflect more accurately our purposes.

## **Lapford Community Church (YVCF) & The ARK (Foodbank)**
## **Total Income - £54,797.19**
## Comprising:
Combined offerings & donations LCC £36,441.98 Reclaimed Gift Aid (re 2023-24) £ 3,001.27 The ARK café & Foodbank donations £15,353.94
Thank you so much for your ongoing support for the Church, The ARK, and the Foodbank. Because of your generosity, we’re able to keep helping local people through the many events and activities that each part of our Church offers.
We are very grateful for the money raised from the Christmas Fayres at The ARK of just under £800 and would like to thank everyone who helped in these events.
**Total Expenses - £52.882.67** Made up of:
Payments made from LCC £40,501.73 The ARK & Foodbank £12,380.94
Lola, our sponsored child in Uganda, enjoys receiving letters and cards and sends back regular news. She is very grateful for the continued support we offer to her, which enables her to attend regular schooling. We continue to support The Foodbank, ARK café and Compassionate funds which are all being used constantly. These groups are all a big asset to our community.
We had two bigger expenses during this financial year. We installed the new Audio vision system which cost just over £9,000 and as well as that were able to give a substantial donation to the Church of England toward their building works.

## INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF LAPFORD COMMUNITY CHURCH
We report on the accounts Of the Trust for the period ended 31 March 2025. which are set out on pages 1 and 2.
## Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act") and that an independent examination is needed.
It is our responsibility to;
- a. examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act
- b. to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section of the Charities Act. and
- c. to state whether particular matters have come to our attention
## Basis of independent examiner's statement
Our examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission; An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the

accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion Is given as to whether the accounts present a true and fair' view and the report is limited to those matters set out ill the statement below.
## Independent examiner's statement
In connection with our examination no material matters have come to our attention which gives us cause to believe that in, any material respect.
- a. the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act, or
- b. the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
- c. the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair' view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
We have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached
