Main activities: We are a Church group who meet together to promote Christian Faith in the village and local area. In addition to meeting together for fellowship, the Church have purchased a local building which is used as a drop in café, foodbank and by the community for other activities. Statement re Charity Commission guidance: The trustees have regarded the Charity Commission guides whenever there have been decisions to make on the actions of the charity and continue to administer the governance of the fellowship under the Charitable Incorporated Organisation. ## _**Achievements and Performance**_ Summary of main achievements: Over recent years The Ark has been a shining light within its work of the foodbank but also in its role as a hub within Lapford and the wider community. As times become more financially challenging the food bank will be even busier. As well as this the other facilities of The Ark will be even more important to give support to those in and around the village. The compassionate fund is continuing to be administered by the management of The Ark and with the other areas of The Ark these are an important means of our Christian outreach. More recently there has been a space opened upstairs to use as a library/reading area. ## _**Structure, Governance and Management**_ Description of charity trusts: The Charity is made up of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Association Model) and is controlled by its trust deed. Trustee selection methods: Within the Trustees we have a rolling period of service after which a Trustee will stand down. There then follows a voting process regarding election. ## _**Reference and Administrative Details**_ Any other name: Recently the Church has changed its name from Yeo Valley Christian Fellowship to Lapford Community Church to reflect more accurately our purposes. It was lovely at Church earlier in the year to have an update about Lola and to write messages for her. Lola enjoys receiving letters and cards and sends back regular news. We have also been able to donate to ShelterBox to support their work and equipment in areas they are currently involved. All the charities have expressed their gratitude for the gifts received. The Foodbank, ARK café and Compassionate funds are also being used constantly and these are all a big asset to the community. In February 2024 we received a Gift Aid refund of £2851.63 for the financial year 2022-23.
