TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION, IMPROVEMENT AND PROTECTION OF THE MENTAL HEALTH OF THOSE PEOPLE WORKING WITHIN THE HOSPITALITY AND CATERING INDUSTRIES BY ASSISTING IN THE CARE, RELIEF AND REHABILITATION OF ANY SUCH PERSONS SUFFERING FROM POOR MENTAL INCLUDING MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS AND EMOTIONAL OR MENTAL DISTRESS VIA, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE PROVISION OF ADVICE AND MEDICAL TREATMENT.

Main activity is the provision of Mental Health First Aid training courses, online and in-person, to people working in the hospitality industry. This training equips individuals with the education and tools to support people who are experiencing poor mental health or with existing mental health conditions. 

The charity has created a network of trained individuals to support each other and provides resources to help better support the industry, particularly during the initial announcement of lockdown. 

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** 

The charity also runs and collaborates with other organisations for awareness raising events to reach a wider network and further support hospitality employees to look after their mental health.

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

Trained 106 individuals in Mental Health First Aid skills from across 63 different hospitality organisations. 

Partnered with 2 other organisations working to improve mental health in hospitality to reach more people and further raise awareness. 

100% of feedback respondents said they felt well equipped to put the skills learnt on the course into action in their workplace. 

100% of feedback respondents said the course improved the way they look after their own mental health. 

96% of feedback respondents said they felt confident in dealing with mental health issues after completing the training. 

Founder was included in CODE Hospitality’s 30 Under 30 Class of 2019 for the charity’s work on improving the mental health of hospitality employees.
