1. Income has been maintained at just under £2000, with the majority derived from Trustee and Volunteer initiatives such as the Plant & Book Stall (£660) and production of a Village Map (£730). 

2. Expenditure on Charitable Activities has increased by 50 %, most notably on the Fast Track book scheme, Social Clubs (LEGO, Rummikub and English Language for Ukrainians) and Authors’ visits.

Notes on Accounts: 

1. A successful bid to HMRC under the Gift Aid scheme for the previous year (2020/21) resulted in receipt of £75.19; a similar bid for this year resulted in receipt of £268.03. 

2. A unique grant of £300 was received from Network Plus after this subcontractor to Western Power Distribution caused significant damage to some Parish footpaths; after complaints to Western Power, a grant was made to a representative Parish Charity – with FOSPL being the beneficiary. 

3. Further to the Somerset Community Foundation grant for the production of a Village Circular Walks leaflet in the previous year, a further grant of £433 was received this year to fund a reprint in support of popular demand. 

4. After registration with Amazon Smile, the Charity has received small but regular donations. 

5. Expenditure included funding of the LEGO Club, Rummikub start-up, English Courses for Ukranian families, and Authors’ visits 

6. During this FY, new Trustee Anne Brown became Treasurer, with Peter Kidner, FOSPL Chair and previous Treasurer, supporting as Deputy Treasurer vice Michael Callaghan.
