Henley in Arden and District Dementia Café was registered on 19[th] November 2019.  The café is now well-established in the town and meets fortnightly on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, supported by a core group of volunteers. 

The objective of the café is to provide a friendly social meeting place for people with all forms of memory or dementia problems and their families and friends in the local area. 

The café is succeeding in its objectives as number of regular attendees continues to grow to around 40 – 50 attendees at each café meeting.   The café is helping alleviate loneliness and isolation in our local community. 

The café has become known locally as the Memory Lane Café.  It is now a recognised and established community group in town. 

The charity is being funded by donations from the public at café meetings and trustees are seeking funding to provide additional activities at each meeting from local parish councils and other sources.  We have successfully run external visits for regular café attendees to the theatre in Birmingham which have been well received and more are planned. 

The café continues to achieve its aim of supporting local people with memory problems and their carers as well as tackling loneliness in the community by providing a regular and friendly place for residents to gather and meet for friendship, chat and activity.
