Henley in Arden and District Dementia Café was registered on 19[th] November 2019.  In the last twelve months it has become well-established in the town and meets fortnightly on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. 

The objective of the café is to provide a friendly social meeting place for people with all forms of memory or dementia problems and their families and friends in the local area. 

The café is succeeding in its objectives as number of regular attendees has grown to an average of 40 attendees at each café meeting.  During the cost of living crisis it is also becoming another warm space in the town where people can go for a warm drink, also helping alleviate isolation in the community and tackle loneliness. 

The café has become known locally as the Memory Lane Café.  It is now a recognised and established community group in town. 

Our volunteer base has also grown to 24 which is helping facilitate additional visitors to the café. 

The charity is being funded by donations from the public at café meetings and trustees are seeking funding to provide additional activities at each meeting from local parish councils and other sources. 

The café continues to achieve its aim of supporting local people with memory problems and their carers as well as tackling loneliness in the community by providing a regular and friendly place for residents to gather and meet for friendship, chat and activity.
