Tackling the causes of poverty, disadvantage and inequality across the city of Chester and the surrounding area through funding to charitable and community organisations; provision of almshouse accommodation; and by sponsoring educational bursaries. The Charity also provides affordable office space and room hire for Third Sector organisations at its charity hub where it is also based.

Objects: 1.1 The Relief Of Poverty For The Public Benefit By The Provision Of Housing Accommodation To Persons Who: (I) Are In Need, Hardship Or Distress; And (Ii) Are Resident In The Area Of Benefit And Such Other Charitable Purposes For The Benefit Of Such Persons As The Trustees Decide;1.2 The Relief, For The Benefit Of The Public, Of Those People Who Are In Need By Reason Of Youth, Age, Ill Health, Disability, Financial Hardship Or Other Disadvantage And Resident In The Area Of Benefit By (But Without Prejudice To The Generality Of The Foregoing):1.2.1 Making Grants Of Money; Or1.2.2 Providing Or Paying For Goods, Services Or Facilities; Or1.2.3 Making Grants Of Money To Other Persons Or Bodies Who Provide Goods, Services Or Facilities To People In Need;1.3 To Promote, For The Benefit Of The Public, The Education Of Persons Who:1.3.1 Are Under The Age Of 25; And1.3.2 Are In Need Of Financial Assistance; And1.3.3 Are Resident In The Area Of Benefit.by (But Without Prejudice To The Generality Of The Foregoing) The Provision Of Items, Services And Facilities For Individuals, Schools And Other Educational, Training, Social And Civic Development Organisations Within The Area Of Benefit.
