ANNUAL REPORT : VIVA FOUNDATION UK

On behalf of the Viva Foundation UK, it is my pleasure to provide the annual report of the organisation for the period 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
Activities
The activities of the organisation were limited to two donations received from a UK based Charity, Bushfire ministries, which were done via PayPal.
Bushfire Ministries sent donations to the Viva Foundation South Africa directly, via PayPal in South Africa and therefore their support did not affect the financial situation of the Viva Foundation UK.
Difficulties
The charity was informed by the Charity Commission for England and Wales that one of its UKbased trustees, Mr. Allan Wilkenson, was not a suitable Trustee as a result of bankruptcy. The other trustee, Janina Silinskaite, is likewise not able to continue as Trustee for personal reasons.
This has placed the charity in a difficult position as it needs to recruit new Trustees. The only remaining trustee is Meleney B. Kriel, who resides in South Africa.
Therefore, an urgent request is made to allow the charity to continue in its endeavours to recruit
new trustees. Mrs. Kriel will visit the UK in May 2024 for this purpose.

Finances
The only funding received was transfers amounting to seven hundred and nineteen Pounds Stirling – which is the average exchange rate of the United States Dollar amount of eight hundred and nine eight from Bushfire Ministries to Viva Foundation South Africa via PayPal.
The organisation closed the Wise Bank Account and its balance, was transferred to the Viva Foundation e.V. Germany account, from whence it came, namely one hundred Pounds Stirling.
Expenditures include direct transfers of the full amounts from Bushfire Ministries in the UK via PayPal to the Viva Foundation in South Africa to the value of seven hundred and nineteen Pounds Stirling. The funds were used exclusively for the Viva Foundation of South Africa’s feeding scheme namely, to provide food parcels to vulnerable families and a school feeding scheme in two very poor areas, Refilwe Township and an informal settlement in Mamelodi East, Pretoria.
Trustees
The process of recruitment of Trustees and additional members continues and have been hindered by the fact that Mr. Allan Wilkenson can no longer be a trustee due to bankruptcy and Ms. Silinskaite likewise is no longer available.
Active recruitment is ongoing and the remaining trustee is currently reaching out to acquaintances and Non-Profit practitioners.
Other activities
The activities of the Viva Foundation continued in South Africa and Brazil. In South Africa 360 children receive care, education and two meals per day at two difference centres, in Refilwe and Mamelodi near Pretoria. Activism in the prevention of Sexual Violence is likewise continuing. The Feeding Scheme is also providing food parcels to vulnerable families and the organisation has an active arts and music programme with a children’s choir that travelled to Germany and Holland from South Africa in December 2023.
In Brazil, the charity provides after school care and Capoeira classes to approximately 100 children in the slum areas of Sao Paolo.
