|Summary of the main<br>activities in relation to those<br>purposes for the public<br>benefit, in particular, the<br>activities, projects or<br>services identified in the<br>accounts.|Para 1.17 and<br>1.19|**The Piano Teachers’ Course continues**<br>**to survive and flourish because the**<br>**tutors continue to work hard to ensure**<br>**students can take the course either in**<br>**person or virtually.**<br>**Of the substantial bequest of £10,000**<br>**from Mr. Tayama, the father of the late**<br>**course Director, Masayuki Tayama, (a**<br>**sum earmarked for the new Masayuki**<br>**Tayama Bursary Fund, which will enable**<br>**more students who need financial**<br>**support to attend PTC courses),**<br>**£1,500 has been awarded to a Ukrainian**<br>**student, who has settled in the UK, for**<br>**the 2025-2026 Cert PTC course (we are**<br>**aiming to award appx £1,000-£1,500**<br>**each year for 5-10 years).**<br>**The Cert PTC continues to be in line for**<br>**accreditation thanks to the Matossian**<br>**estate bequest from last year. This**<br>**process is nearly complete, and has**<br>**already resulted in a more professional**<br>**look for the PTC as smart new templates**<br>**for all tutors’ lectures and handouts**<br>**have been designed for its purpose.**<br>**The three new courses have all been**<br>**successful:**<br>**1. The foundation Course for piano**<br>**teachers who are not yet ready to enrol**<br>**on the full Cert PTC, attracted 6**<br>**students.**<br>**2. The fast track course towards the new**<br>**ARSM Teacher Diploma (a Level 4**<br>**qualification) attracted 4 students.**<br>**3. The advanced course for Cert PTC**<br>**holders who wish to continue to develop**<br>**their skills and work towards an ABRSM**<br>**or Trinity Level 6 piano teaching**|





|||**diploma attracted 4 students.**<br>**Also, 2024-2025 saw the addition of**<br>**many one-off workshops, for both in**<br>**person and online piano teachers,**<br>**added to the existing four courses.**<br>**Efforts to raise funds continue with the**<br>**assistance of Kieran Henderson who**<br>**uses, with suitable adaptations, Sacha**<br>**Glasgow-Smith’s original**<br>**documentation, and secured £3,000 for**<br>**student bursaries from the Thriplow**<br>**Trust.**<br>**Tutors continue to raise money through**<br>**giving and organising concerts.**|

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Piano Teachers’ Course UK Trust** 

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31[st] August 2025. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). 

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiner's statement** 

I confirm that I am qualified to undertake the examination because I am a member of the ACCA, which is one of the listed bodies, in section 124 of the Charities Act 2011. However, as the charity’s gross income does not exceed £250,000, it has not been mandatory to assign an independent examiner from a listed body. 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

2. the accounts do not accord with those records 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
