**because the tutors have worked hard to**

**a substantial bequest of £55,000 from**
**the Matossian estate.**
**This means that we are optimistic that**
**we can help the course continue even if**
**with fewer students, and that we can**
**help strengthen the Course by exploring**
**ways in which it can be accredited**
**making even the course even more**
**attractive to take.**
**A further challenge for us has been the**
**ABRSM’s decision to temporarily**
**withdraw one of their diplomas whilst**
**they redesign it: this has meant that we**
**have had to close one of our streams**

**reality is that we will need to look very**
**carefully at balancing how we support**
**the Course through a difficult period but**
**also ensure that whether accreditation is**
**a viable way of strengthening its**

The private legacies were bequeathed to the CIO, through the Haroutune Hagop Matossian Will Trust, towards supporting the CIO to continue to deliver its objectives. ## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Piano Teachers’ Course UK Trust** I report to the charity trustees on my examina�on of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31[st] August 2023. ## **Responsibilities and basis of report** The charity’s trustees are responsible for the prepara�on of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Chari�es Act 2011 (‘the Act’). I report in respect of my examina�on of the charity’s accounts carried out under sec�on 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examina�on I have followed all the applicable Direc�ons given by the Charity Commission under sec�on 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiner's statement** listed bodies, in sec�on 124 of the Chari�es Act 2011.
