Cylch Meithrin Bodawen provides morning and afternoon playgroup sessions throughout the week, during term time for the public benefit. The Cylch follows the Foundation Phase Curriculum in Wales (2-7 yrs) and it provides this exclusively through the medium of Welsh. The Cylch Meithrin is accessible for all children between 2 and 4 years in Denbigh and outlying areas and these children, and their families, therefore are the beneficiaries of this charity. 

Cylch Meithrin Bodawen provide early education. **Summary of the main activities** The trustees have due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity **undertaken for the public** Commission on public benefit and understand the charity’s purposes as **benefit in relation to these** set out in its governing document. Section D                      Achievements and performance 

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

The Charity fulfilled its purpose and objective and provided a full playgroup service through the Medium of Welsh to children of 2 and a half to 4 years in the Denbigh area. Approximately 40 children were on roll during this financial year. 

The Cylch staff worked very hard during this financial year to re-build the business of the Cylch following the pandemic. Staff worked hard to rebuild the child numbers following the pandemic. 

Fundraising activities partially returned during the financial year. 

No inspections have been carried out during this financial period. 

All planned work on the Pre-school grant to provide improved buildings for the Cylch, were paused during this pandemic, and during this financial period, the Local Authority began to reprofile this project and this work is ongoing.The Cylch expects to learn from the authority of the progress of the pre-school grant in the Summer of 2023.

||**The committee and Trustees maximised their efforts to raise money**<br>**for the Cylch, during this financial period. We continued to seek**<br>**external supports such as local funds and grants. The Cylch was**<br>**successful in seeking over 5K of grants for funds during this**<br>**financial period.**<br>**On the 15th May 2019 the Denbighshire local Authority announced**<br>**that they had been successful in achieving a grant from the Welsh**<br>**Government’s Pre school grant, to improve the location and**<br>**physical provision of Cylch Meithrin Bodawen. The likely timescales**<br>**would be 1-2 years. However the pandemic paused this work.**<br>**During this financial year, further discussions have taken place to**<br>**further this work and although rising costs have meant some**<br>**reprofiling of the overall project. The Cylch expect news of this**<br>**project in the Summer of 2023.**<br>**The Trustees and Committee of Cylch Meithrin Bodawen will**<br>**continue to work jointly with the Local Authority over the coming**<br>**financial year to achieve a new building and locality for the Cylch**<br>**and to explore how a purpose built building will present increased**<br>**opportunities to expand the business and increase revenue.**|
