Achievement and Performance Weproudly remained an unpaid group of volunieers, ensuringthat only nee¢ssary Costs 8Dd expenditure took place io allow us io create as many opportunities as possible for our families. Thanks to our fundraising efforts and donations made io us, we were abl¢ to hold a larg¢ number of ¢vents throughout th¢ year. These in¢luded, bul are not limited to, Bounceback exercise sessions which afford chtldren with all physical abilities the opptsrtunily to exercise, socialise and ve fun. Our popular Ctnema Club continued throughout the year, on average every four io six weeks.. We provide families with driDks and ir¢at5, poorn. and i¢e Cream if desired. The s¢reenings by are complimeiited by character visits, providing opportunities for memory-making phoiographs. We have recently invested in headphones for our children who struggle with seiisory 2udilory issues. Tjie ptspular sessitsns at Duffy's Chocolaiiers also CODiinued during Easter, SuEnmer, and all half-tem) holidays. These are small group ¥vent5 ivhere even parenis can have a go at making decorated lolliptspa iruffles and more. Photos evidence the children enjoying as much of it during the sessions as they take home in their bags. We aanged foi. two full days of pottery making for our familie5 over the summer. where w¢ were able to provide item5 to de¢ordte and glazc. Thes¢ not only provided wonderful memories but ivas anoih¢r way in which both ¢hildreii and fatnilies could relax and inieract. Our ¢hildren were also delighted by scssions witli Lab Cocoa. a very differeni chocolate making cxpericnce to Duffy's. It is important io note that the qualily of these session5, along with Ihose al Dufy'5 and Pot Luck, ore enhan¢ed by the positive supporE provided by these providers who go above- and-beyond to rtrdke a difference to our familie5. Our Christmas Party was once again held ai Forest Pines Hotel in tsrly Dec¢mber. and this was wonderful. Our volunteers ca¢ out in force, alontt ivith Santa. to captur¢ precious memories of what we are alivays conscious may be a finttl Christmas for some of our children. The cliildren ivere eniertained by a live Elf band, made de¢oraied Chrisimas biscuits and cupcakes. uafis and actiV2ties, visited Santa's groito and Siveet S1811. and ¢njoyed a buffet. At Easter, w¢collabo¥at¢d with a professional baker. io provide bakingdays for the children at a Village Hall. These were Iliemed and extremely tK)puiar, with ehildren making and de¢ordting their own cakes and box&8. Tlie ivork of our unpaid volunteers and Ihose who Fundraise for us is paramouiil to the suceess of what w¢ do. On a loe21 level, as respite is hard to come by for ii)ally of our familÉes, we are regularly told that Ihe Sunflower5 SUPPOrt and activities hclp Lo fill tliis gap. To our families, we are the 'Sunflowcrs family. and 'Sunflow¢rs community., There is a ITU¢ sens¢ ol belonginrr supp011 and care.
