For this reason, they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements. Further detai55 regarding the adoption of the going concern basis can be found in the accounting policies. The Trustees review the amount of reseNes that are required to ensure that they are adequate to fulfil thè CIO'S continuing oblSgations on a regular basis at their board meetings.
Strutture Governance and mana ement The CIO was formed through a constitution dated 21° Ortober 2019 and commenced aCtlty on 5, November 2019. The CIO Is Boverr*ed by a constltution whlch was submitted for approval of the Charity Commission prior to re8lStration which has not been amended. In setting objectfves and plannlng activities the Trustees have given due consideration to the general guidance published by the Charity Commission relatin8 to public benefit, including the 8uidance'Public benefit.. running a Charity IPB21 Fundin The CIO'S primary sources of funding come from parlshioners and supporters of the Assyrian Church of the East in the United Kingdom. Donations are collected general and for proposed projects undertaken by the CIO. Re ulations and safe uardin The CIO'5 Trustees have implemented processes and pro¢edure5 for compliance of le8al requlrements of the CIO and its activitie5'. al DBS Checks- a safeguarding officer appotnted and overseen by a member C>f the Trustees ha5 establlshed the CIO'S safeguardlng policy and identified members of the CIO'S Trustees and appointed committee member5 for D8S certification. bl Insurance Policies- The CIO asked for external review of its property and areas of actlvlty for full compliance of its legal obligations. ¢1 Health and safety- Health and Safety polScy Implemented In areas of operation. dl Flre Risk Assessment- A risk assessment and Fire Plan were put in place for the Church buildin8 Sncludlng exlt and assemb point5. el Financial- the CIO established a finance department to control its finances which induded a member of the Trvstees of the CIO vid-19 The CIO'S response to the Covld-19 pandemlc and subsequènt Lockdowns and restrictions included: Weekly 8ulletin5 were issued each Monday informing the members of the ecclesiastical servicès as well a5 any updates within the community induding any proposed projects being anticipated and upcoming events. Desplte lockdown restrictions being gradually lifted the Chvrch took a very conseryative approach to Covid given the muttitude of infections which were at times rising higher than anticipated - the Church therefore resolved at times in the year to cler8y-only attendance at Church with the services being live-5tTeamed via social media. Once Covld-numbers were under some control. in line with UK regulations in place at the time, the church would limit attendees and have appropriate social distancing and safe8uards in place such as markin85 Within the vicinity of the Church. Emails would be sent out to all members creating a register in which members would submit which services they wished to attend and this being governed intemally to en5urÈ that all member5 had faif and proportionate access to 311
seNice5 throughout the year. Volunteers were also on hand during services to ensure safeguard5 were maintained at all tirnes throughout. The Church emailed the members Invitlng all Key Worker5 to get in touch to facilitate a letter of appreciation from the Chair for their efforts throughout the pandemic. Overview of CIO activities 2021 was a year in which the lockdown restrictions were gradually eased throughout the UK but at times regre55ed 3nd the CIO was at all times consciovsly aware of all key update5 and has ensured that all protoco15 and safeguards have been followed in ensuring members of the community are updated on all events and services throughout the year and ecclesiastical services such as bible studies and A55yrian Language classes taught by the Church Èither remotely via social media Apps or In-person if the re8ulations allowed. Activities - how the charity spends its money
The objects of the CIO are, for the public benefit, to advance the Christian faith in the tradition of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East in the United Kingdom, primarily but not exclusively through the provision of a place or places of worship, the administration of the sacraments, rites and ceremonies of the Church according to its usage and forms.

TRUE AND FAIR OVERIDE - ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31 DECEMBER 2021
The accounts (financial statements) have been prepared in accordance with the relevant version of the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011 and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.
The accounts (financial statements) have been prepared to give a ‘true and fair’ view and have departed from the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a ‘true and fair view’. This departure has involved following the relevant version of the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) rather than the Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice effective from 1 April 2005 which has since been withdrawn.

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in notes to the accounts and comply with the charity’s governing document, the Charities Act 2011 and the relevant version of the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102).
th On 11 of November 2019 the charity was registered under CIO and took over the assets i.e. property, cash and other accumulated funds from the Assyrian Church of the East Association in accordance with the extraordinary general meeting held in November 2019.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT
To the members of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East
I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East (“the charity”) for the year ended 31 December 2021 which comprise the Statement of Financial Activities, the Balance Sheet and the related notes.
This report is made solely to the charity’s trustees, as a body, in accordance with section 145 of the Charities Act 2011. My work has been undertaken so that I might state to the charity’s trustees those matters I am required to state to them in this report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the charity and the charity’s trustees as a body, for my work, for this report, or for the opinions I have formed.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the charity, you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s financial statements carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

Accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or

The financial statements do not accord with those records; or
The financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulation 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view’ which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
We have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.
