## Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Hope Bradford UK CIO Charitable Incorporated Organisation ('the CIO')

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the CIO for the period ended 30 November 2020, which are set out on pages 5 to 8.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity trustees of the CIO you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').

I report in respect of my examination of the CIO's accounts as carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

I have completed my examination. I have identified a matter of concern in my report because I have concerns that there has been material expenditure or action which appears to not be in accordance with the CIO's constitution.

The accounts disclose information on related party transactions in Note 5. The Note details that a connected person (the spouse of one of the trustees) has been employed by the CIO during the period ended 30 November 2020 at a cost of £9,479 to the CIO. The CIO's constitution states that no charity trustee or connected person may be employed by, or receive any remuneration from, the CIO. I am satisfied that this breach of the CIO's constitution was not deliberate and I draw attention to the prompt action that has been taken by the trustees to remedy this breach.

I confirm that no other matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1 accounting records were not kept in respect of the CIO as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2 the accounts do not accord with those records.

I confirm that there are no other matters to which your attention should be drawn to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
